New EDf customer increase of DD
Comments

Well, I'm now six weeks in with EDF, and have given them the second set of meter readings online, which worked fine. Then they again went and changed the DD upwards, as they did after the first meter readings.
I phoned EDF up (had to hang on for about 15mins) and they changed the DD back down with no problem; they did say that the system is not supposed to change the DDs until after 6 months.
We shall have to see what happens after next months readings.0 -
As I said in another thread, don't enter readings into your online account more often than 28 days apart. Doing so makes their system :rotfl: recalculate the DD, with uncertain results. One of their customer service reps told me that when I phoned to get my newly adjusted DD put back to what it was.

Same - just noticed last night they've doubled my DD.
I appreciate this may be in anticipation of winter, but there are ways of doing such things - not happy and have sent in my complaint. I may stop paying by D/D if they can just change it without warning as and when they choose.
I agree with melbury re British Gas and npower, who we just switched from - I wouldn't use them again unless they gave their stuff away either! I am also hoping it works out with EDF. Have found their customer service much better, prices cheaper, like the freefone number, but the broken systems and now this trick reminds me that there are no good guys out there.
What a mess!0 -

Well my readings were over 28 days apart (31st July and 31st August) and the recalculation still happened.0 -

So were mine, but the meter reading man had paid a visit in-between and those readings got into the system, triggering the 28 day armageddon. That was the reason customer services gave me anyway, but they called it confusion rather than armageddon.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards.
