New EDf customer increase of DD
I joined edf at the end of June, dd was set up at £61. Today I entered a meter reading and noticed the dd has been set at £74, I am on a budget fixed dd to be reviewed every 6 months. Can EDF just increase my DD aftet two months without my knowledge, I am already £71 in credit? Thanks

Is that for gas or electricity? I'm currently with EDF and I'm £230.00 in credit for my gas, this should be about right at this time of the year and with my useage over winter. Maybe you should give EDF a call and see what they say. I always think its better to pay a little more now to cover your winter use, than end up with a large debit in Spring.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Just phone them - there is no way that they can/should do a "review" based on a few weeks usage during the Summer.I phoned this am and got the DD put back where it was - the advisor agreed that it was nonsensical. Computers eh?0

The new system doesn't do Direct Debits properly (or at all in my case).
You are getting the random number generator which is more than me.
A planned fix will be ready by 2014. (Midlands Area only).:D
It's worrying that no one in power seems to know. :eek:0 -
Did the same to us after our first payment! We complained & they eventually got back to us, asking us what we'd like them to do. I replied that they could put the dd amount back to what had been agreed & for it to be reviewed after 6 months, as had been promised. I'm still waiting for a response & will have to chase up for the second time.....0

The advisor I got hold of yesterday morning ,adjusted the DD back to its previous value there and then; I checked MyAccount online in the afternoon and it had reverted to the "agreed" sum.I received an online message overnight confirming the "change" to DD.0

Im a newish EDF customers too and when i phoned to agree my DD for £75 a month for gas&electric i had my letter confirming the DD and it had shot up to £151, so i phoned them and even though they said on the system it said i had agreed £75 the letter they had sent was the wrong amount, so they changed it for me and when i checked online the next day it was the right amount. I also had a letter to confirm the change. They were very helpful when i called and changed it right away.0

I 'switched' to EDF in March - despite meter readings, phone calls, emails they have not taken any Direct Debits! I have chased them - no-one knows whats happening, they promise to call back and don't. I now owe several months of payments through no fault of my own. DD info all correct - its just EDF not knowing what they are doing. Staff are rubbish who I have spoken to. Wish I had not switched.......
I am currently looking to go back to British Gas.
Would not and could not recommend EDF.:mad:0 -

I am in the process of switching to EDF Price Fix 2014, purely because it was a much cheaper plan than anything Southern Electric had on offer. I was a bit reluctant to leave Southern because their customer service has been brilliant, but in the end it was all about cost.
The only way I would ever consider going back to British Gas is if they were giving the stuff away;) When I left them years ago, they made the change extremely difficult and the problems rolled on for months with them demanding money that wasn't due etc - total nightmare.
I just hope that everything works out with EDF:eek:Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
Ive been with EDF for years, great customer service, freephone number, if ive ever had a problem its sorted out in minutes over the phonemake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
