I'm always surprised people don't plan a little more for emergencies. OH and I are working towards 3 months wages each... I'm there (just, till pay rise announced later this month) but he's nearly there.

To be honest we've had lots of little light bulb moments but making positive steps towards them now. Some people, I guess, will never have those moments even when it hits them hard.

Totally agree MRN. its only when you're staring down the barrel of a redundancy or some other money crisis that you really get to grips with your spending. I was never that bad but circumstances still caught up with me when I'd spent my saving on a house. No bunce and so the card had to help.
Well done on those savings. I'll be nearly at 6 months worth by the time I leave work - if ever proof was needed to show what they are for!! :eek:
Not much movement on ebay for me - think this time of year can be a bit uncertain in ebay land. Hmm. How else to raise £100 to see me through? I may try the scattergun approach with ebay - just put loads on and hope!;)

Ah - but DDs various activities all want next terms payments now - so thats nearly £150. Curses.
Christmas trees too expensive so I bought one 2ft smaller and put it on a chest! - :beer:
Made my own door wreath - very nice thank you!
Made my christmas drinks to give as gifts - and will make chocs.
Sorted.

If only I could cut hair. I will not do that to DD - too traumatic - her annual haircut will be done without the use of a pudding bowl........a minor expense but at least I won't scar her for life with christmas photos of a bad haircut...........not this year anyway.;)

£600 going into the savings pot this weekend and one job application going out. Not a bad salary - but pretty pressured I think - not quite the nice work-life balance job I was hoping for. I'll worry about that if I get offered it!!

Back in the land of the living after a christmas of excess. A month of frugality ahead - more for my waistline than anything.
Not had my mortgage statement through yet - normally get it at christmas and want to see how I'm doing.
Two job applications have gone out - watch this space. Both were full time, not what I want but I'm just going to apply for anything that seems relevant. Scattergun approach!
My year of change has started - or rather another year of change. This time its job related. Never a dull moment eh? Sheesh.
