2.2 in the employment market.

My Neighbour used to work for a big Amercian company and they used to call people little Basta*ds and names like that and it just makes you wonder why anyone would want to work for such a company.:beer:0

My job has a 2:1 minimum requirement
I have a 2:2, ha!0 -

Well, ok, i've got a 2:2 and an MSc in a complicated-sounding-subject ('biosystems and informatics...')
With that I got my first job at a uni, then bounced up to a 'corporate' job 18 months later (the one that needed a 2:1)0 -
I have a 2:2, but because of that I got a masters to help me out.
I didn't have any problems getting a job (got the first one I applied for).
That said, the first job I was *going* to apply for, I couldn't because they wouldn't give you the application form unless you ticked the "i have a 2:1 or over at BSc" box.0 -
So if you have a 2.2 then doing a Masters or some PG study certainly helps.:beer:0

I don't know anyone who's got a 2:2 recently who has what I would call a good job, apart from those who have gone on to do some sort of PG study.
But it depends what you want to do. I have a first but I'm not employable at all in what I want to do because those jobs require a PhD. However I'm sure I would be deemed very employable by a call centre0 -
There are sooo many varying factors to whether a 2:2 is of use to an employer or not that it is an impossible question!.
As others have said, when looking for a suitable candidate most employers will consider: the course relevance, the universtity attended, the grade, the level of experience, your personality, the other people applying for the same position etc etc.
I don't mean to be rude, but it's a sort of a pointless thing to worry about, you will get the grade you will get so will need to deal with the outcomes regardless!.0 -
Do employers actually check that the information a prospective employee gives them about their degree is correct?Stompa0
