Back in the land locked midlands
Nice tidy house now looks a tip. Back to reality with a bump I guess. Killer cat perched on my lap for last hour so I guess it's getting chilly LOL
Hugs for jackieg and red ruby xxx
Catch up properly tomorrow xxxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Evening everyone
WB Bitsy, Hugs for the poorly, worried and others who just want one
Went to library on way to work this morning, always feel good when I do that, so glad they open at 8.30 now.
Stuck a load of jacket potatoes in the SC this morning, so guess what I had for tea tonight :rotfl:will take one for lunch at work tomorrow and freeze the rest. Don't fancy salad for work at the moment as it has turned so cold, we even have the heating on at work
Am going to a craft thingy at Manchester on Saturday, OH is taking me along with a woman I work with and her DD, looking forward to it, hoping to get some ideas and maybe buy a couple of bits. Am crocheting again at the moment, have started this but it doesn't look as good as Lucy's:rotfl:still its all practice!
Not a lot else going on really just the usual HW (insert yawning smiley)

I did some foraging yesterday with my two children and picked apples ( small but edible when cooked), elderberries, sloes and blackberries. I think there were also hawthorn berries as well in abundance, but not sure enough to risk picking and cooking them.
I told the lads to leave plenty for the birds and other people.
We made a sort of jam that won't last beyond a few days and some dilutable cordial.0 -

Evening all!
Going to catch up with everyone's posts once I've posted
Feeling really tired today, couldn't sleep again because of my blooming ear, managed to get an appointment at the docs today ( just as well, if I hadn't have taken the cancellation the next appointment was Monday! ) so have been prescribed some ear drops but forgot to put my prescription in so will have to remember tomorrow, it's driving me nuts! Was meant to go swimming tonight but thought I'd best not risk it.
Got a load of washing hung on the airer and another load in before going to work this morning. Had to go get some food shopping in after work and got driven mad by someone in front of me at the checkout asking for price checks on everything she was buying and insisting things weren't priced correctly. Turned out she was wrong and had to wait 15 minutes while people ran round the shop for her  it was over 30p as well, I was nearing the point of saying I'll just give you the 30p, just let me get served!!
So came home feeling a bit peeved but have had a nice calming soak in the bath and have made some gingerbread cupcakes. I've decided to try to bake something new at least once a week so the gingerbread cupcakes are what I've gone for this week. They're on the cooling rack now but the problem is they've risen too much, does anyone else have this problem?? Don't know whether to cut their tops off before I ice them, we'll see how it goes, got to wait for them to cool yet.Going to get to grips with food shopping again, starting February!

Evening all
Hi Bitsy-hope you had a nice holiday. Glad to see you back JackieO. Not much OS to report today. Went into town and treated myself to a tinted moisturiser and a coffee. Still running down the freezer to defrost so we had tuna steaks new pots and frozen mixed veg for tea.
Have a good evening all.

I love Marmite! and will definately give it a go, can't hurt any and can't be any worse than overpriced midge repellants.
Thanks for that tip.
Folks, I'm afraid I've been in lurk mode again lately - but whilst I am posting, my very best wishes to those in pain, worried, unhappy or otherwise in need of comfort.:o

Thanks hun, went to see him again today, and had to stay late to feed him his dinner, as there are not enough staff to help him, also when he needed a wee, I pressed the buzzer as he needs to use a bottle 10 mins later no one had come, so I went to find someone, and they were all gossiping in the corridor
Also I dont have a ds, at least I diddn't the last time I looked :rotfl:, its Jackie G you are thinking of xxxx
Jackie G hope you Bil shows some improvement soon xx
Sorry! put it down to senility.
Keep a careful eye on your Dad won't you? My lovely 97 year-old lost 21/2 stone in 6 weeks because he a) couldn't fancy the disgusting food, even if b) he could have reached it as it was just dumped on his table and c) he wouldn't have been able to get the clingfilm wrapping off and d) he needed help to get the food to his mouth, help that wasn't available. There were plenty of nurses marching around with clip boards, sitting at computers or on the phone, but no-one actually looking after the patients. The system stinks!:mad:I believe that friends are quiet angels

Evening all!
Busy week at work, 5 long days over 6 days, so am bushed, thank goodness tomorrow is the last one! DD back from Marrakesh, bearing loads of washing and a plastic camel for DS, who had his first day at college today. Still got the sore throat and cough, but swallowing the paracetamol and battking on! Mum off to america on saturday to visit brother for 3 weeks, so 1 less person to run after!
Hugs to everyone in need, am off to throttle OH as he's in a huff cos DD didn't bring me a prezzie, she was told not to but he's a moaning git just now cos he's got the virus too and the world owes him a cure apparently!:mad:RIP Iain
