Hey, I'm the same way about getting in shape. I've got a good pair of running shoes that I've used, hmmmm, twice? Perhaps three times. Either way it's the one thing that's always tomorrow.

On the other hand, my finances are whipped, at least for now and I think I've got some flexibility if things go astray later on.

The best advice I can give is JUST GET ON WITH IT. The progress you will make will inspire you and spur you to greater achievement.

Think of everything in your life that you have control over and then everything you don't. Wouldn't your prefer your money to be in the former column? Don't just control it. Dominate it.

    Well what can I say?!

Since my last posting yesterday (sorry I disappeared bf came round with dinner to cheer me up), I had a bit of think, during the lulls in our conversation over dinner.............. and I know you're all definitely right.

I got the talking to, I was hoping for, I think lol No seriously I did. I love my cheerleaders..... oh and the picture from Peaches too.

I think I've got more emotional awareness coming my way in the next week or so and for everyone who said "Just get on with it", thankyou, I cant wallow forever.

Sorry I'm not naming names, but I've got a huge shepard in the oven ohh er!

But as for the depression, its now actually diagnosed by a quack as opposed to me. I was given pills but didnt agree with them and vice versa so tried the homeopathic, and then opted for a dietary linked approach, which again in all honesty, I've been a bit lax with.

I've also decided to spend tomorrow evening (yes I know its that tomorrow excuse again!) sorting out my new SOA, now that I actually know my basic take home from new job.

To Lara, you're right, I want it both ways lol. I want to spend money on nicey nicey things and then I want to be debt free yesterday, which isnt going to happen. So I do need to decide which way I want to face my debt, and enjoy it. Can we enjoy it?

    Is that allowed? :)

Storm, regarding the exercise, I'm actually a fairly active person. My jobs has me on my feet 24/7, well 9:30 to 5:30 but anyway, so I'm always moving. Then I've got a very good yoga dvd from a friend *wink wink peaches*, and an abs machine and stepper, which I got from a bootfair, best £2 I've spent! Use them about 3 times a week for about 20 mins each.

I'm going to............. keep the terramundi! I know it could clear a debt but thats my treat to myself for the future. It's basically now taken over the New York fund and so far, I've saved up enough for a 7 minute helicopter ride over New York. Well thats how I see it anyway. I know savings r never a good thing if you've got debt, but I just want to leave myself that.... dont ask me why............

Right back to step one of DFW for me I think.... and thats a good thing. Lose what I thought I knew and what I think I should feel.....

    Clean slate.
First day of it all, a no spender :) took my own lunch to work today, left my purse at home. Had £1.40 in change at start of day and still got it now! :)

Thank goodness it's not just me.

CAFCgirl - glad you're feeling a bit more positive. You're right to keep the Terramundi money for New York. You will come back feeling 10 times better and ready to continue along the DFW path.

Hope you are enjoying your huge shepherd......I could go a great big fireman if anyone knows of any :D

Again thanks all for the advice, and the suggestions..... as tree hugging hippy style as some of them were :) It's all been a fantastic help :)

    Hi

Thanks TryHard, I'm still a bit annoyed with myself but I'm just trying to be a bit more productive with it. Hence the statement from the bank.

More than anything I think its because I've had a couple of extras come in which were unexpected and they seem to just get eaten up by my own lack of self control..........

    BUT!!!!!
I'm making every effort now to control myself, and get over the mistake and learn from it.
Hence the leaving purse at home, which has led to two no spend days since the original post.....
So thats got to count for something :)

    Hi cafc girl

    Just wondering about this

Will you now STOP paying into the terrmundi then?

If not how will you marry up savings ( which is always nice to gloat over our little empires) with debt repayment. I tried this and loved the saving so much, I stopped paying debt off. in the end i cleared debt with the savings.

Im just interested, as its not something Ive been able to manage at all.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

You could always try setting yourself small goals along the way to keep you motivated, for instance, with all the money you overpaid on various debts last month, you could pay off the store card. I know it isn't the mostcost effective but to just clear something and have that extra towards the other debt every month could help. Do you pay by dd? If not you could try paying all the CC by that and then as you clear one you could set up a standing order from your bank to pay that same ammount off the CC with 22%APR, in addition to the minimum.

    Hi Lynz!

Sorry must be having a dense day but I wasn't quite following this one.

I have stopped paying into the terramundi, it was only if I've got a £2 coin in change then I'd keep it and pop it into the terramundi but like you say its very easy to become super motivated on saving and forget the debt payment.

Im quite happy with the terra' to stay as it is for the time being at the amount it is and become more fixated on paying back the debt. Admittedly £98 isnt a lot and yes i could clear my smallest debt but I guess it's a tool for my own motivation.

It might not make much sense and when I look at it logically it doesnt but then again we're fickle creatures and it's not all about logic sometimes is it?
