    You could but if frequent PC forums the places is littered with Dell battery problems and I've recently found hard disc problems becoming more common. As I said in my post it's about picking the best of a bad lot. As for the connector no it wasn't my fault on this occasion. I'd love to know what misuse you can do to your battery connector ;)

    I was referring to your cable falling out problem - power connector/lead problems are commonplace - tripping/yanking on the lead, trapping the lead in the hinge etc - it's a weak spot in any laptop.
