why are some people so lazy on holiday?

Options
just having a browse at some hotel reviews and come across this quote in one, bearing in mind there was a child in the same room.

" we were charged 5 lira to replace the broken stem of the glass remained on the floor underneath a table for three days till we picked it up and put it on top of the table where it stayed for another 3 days! "

surprised there wasn't a comment about the manager not wiping their !!!!!!!

I think I taly has been using the Euro for at least 10 years,so I don't know how you managed to go that far back.
  • I know some people that are really lazy on holiday, they "won't do anything that they would have to do at home" i.e. no cooking, no washing (a girl I know takes 14 bikinis when going on a 2-week holiday), some won't even drive... it's ridiculous. Is doing everyday things really such a chore?

I don't see what's wrong with that to be honest. I particularly don't wish to drive on my holiday. I will tidy up after myself but I rarely even do any washing, I'm quite happy to leave it until I get home.

It's a holiday. That's the point. You do what you want and skip what you don't. If you are staying in a place where there are cleaners, why should you clean up?

I have no intention of making my bed or rinsing out the bath at any of the hotels I stay at. They have people for that.
Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Personally i've never understood these people that spend all day every day around the pool. And the rare occassions they do go out they stay within 100yrds of the hotel.

I remember many years back we went on a family holiday, our neighboroughs went to the same place a week or so later, their hotel was different but about 50 yards apart, another 50 yards away was a huge gated boat yard/arena (not sure what its called now) with spectacular looking boats (and rich people) -- we said to them after they got back 'what did you think of the boats in the arena?', they responded 'what arena? was it far away?'. The questions that followed went in a similar way :surprised:

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against people relaxing/chilling out, but to me a holiday is not just about lazing about on a sunbed. But exploring a new area, new culture, trying different restaurants, foods, doing new activities suchas boat trips which you wouldn't usually do at home.

But we're all different I guess.

I like to chill out, but I do get bored very quickly.

When I went on holiday to disney this year, we went for a week and made sure that we'd got a crammed itinerary of stuff to do so we didn't get bored. There were two chill out days, where I watched comedy central, swam, and played my DS for most of the day, but that was it.

On our honeymoon, we saw some people who loved to just stay by the pool from dawn til dusk, while we hired quad bikes and toured the whole of Kos.
