    afternoon all,
not got internet at home till tomorrow evening so quick one from me!

yesterday was v. quiet - read a whole book, true story about rescue dogs in afganistan, makes me really want to start volunteering somewhere.

Grandad got is diagnosis, not good, he's got a rare disease where the protein in his body is eating away at his heart and possibly his other organs, I can't remember the name right now and don't really want to go google it. He's coming to london for tests so i should get to see him again soon, but it's not great, i don't think....

OS wise, done ALL the clothes yesterday so they need sorting and putting away, want to wash down the walls in my bedroom and vacuum too if poss.

    hugs to all

Hi all, hugs all round today I think. ((()))

Rie glad to see you back, I think a hol is a great idea.

Bramble sorry to hear the news isn't better, but do you knkw what, knowing what you are fighting makes it easier, hope they can find an answer for grandad.

Candy, button your lip or else! Lol, you dong want to be the 'cause' of a family rucus, because thats what will happen, whether its your fault or not. Just keep venting here. Xxx

Ds1 came home from school really upset, he has lost his jacket, forgot some homework this morning and tbe 'dragon' English teacher nd he had a miscommunication, which she chose to interpret as bad manners on his part, and has sat him at the front of the class to make an example of him. Its so hard, I want to go and say something, but I also want him to sort it out, or else he will never, learn to deal with the awkward teachers, but he is only eleven and has been crying for almost half an hour. I think its all kicking in now, and the AS is kicking in, big time. :(

Osiness is bread and rolls proving, dinner about to be cooked and cleankng the livingroom.

Hope Molly's appointments went well, and JackieO got some satisfaction from the letting agent. Hi to the newbies too.

    Take care.

Hug and hope your grandad can get speedy treatment which improves things.

    Wave to shilly and welcome.

    Tru

Fingers crossed your DH can drive soon and you get a holiday.

Good luck to bethee and molly with appointments.

Finally after nearly ten days of this virus and being scared to leave bedroom I feel a bit better. DH made mince and tatties in slow cooker which I scoffed happily at lunchtime. He also drove me to library for five minutes to change my books and five minutes at small supermarket for eggs, bacon and rolls so I feel as if I got something done but did not have to leave house for too long.

Started to knit a scarf for the winter as it is getting cooler, overcast and pouring with rain.

    Hugs to all

Bramble: so sorry about your Grandad. At least something is being done now and everyone knows what they are fighting. Lots of love petal.
Candygirl: I know, it's tempting to lash out but then you've lost the moral high ground. Honestly, if you can force yourself to be slightly remote and graciously, patronisingly loving and concerned, (OK, APPEAR to be all those things,) it gets right up their nose and gives them nothing to work on. Then you emerge all shiny and smelling of roses. If accusations or name-calling are starting, agree with them - 'Yes I am a witch I know, I have certificates to prove it, but when I am as old as you are I may have got over it'. I have had a long life of defusing situations and if you can keep it up it actually works. Promise!

Another one who is just grabbing a few minutes computer time.
We have been soooo busy the last couple of days. DH decided to rip off the plasterboard in the utility room (Old coal shed IYSWIM) and found that there is no insulation whatsoever behind it and that the walls need to be tanked so that is one big unertaking to be done in the next week or so
Then I need to buy a new scooter and I desperately need new specs

After that we want to put new radiators through the whole house to see if that helps with the cold areas we have.

If we have any money left after that lot we need to have the back windows done.

To top that lot we need to look at buying a new car next year   Skintsville here we come again :(
    NPM :A (((((((Hugs)))))))
    Lou (((((Hugs)))))

JackieG... Poor DS ((((((Hugs DS))))) there is always one horrible teacher who doesn't get the concept of the small ones settling in for the first couple of weeks :(

    Welcome Shilly

Well I am off to have a nice shower cos my legs are eally sore tonight

Long day today, been to Birmingham and back for H2B's hospital appointment and treatment. Apparently the last x-ray he had showed the tumors in his lungs have grown since last time so next time we go down in 4 weeks he has to have another lung x-ray to check on the lung nodules and a x-ray on his leg to check the tumor thats there. Hoping that someones got it wrong somewhere as the drug he's on is a trial drug and they stipulate that if at any point there is an adverse effect he has to come off it and there's nothing else really out there that can treat the type of tumor he has ( complicated, its technically benign but a !!!!!! to treat and can be fatal )

Tru - Hope Mr Tru is ok and that he can get away with the bandage

Rage in Eden - I hope that next time is a success xx

Bramble - Trust me it's not worth googling illnesses ( I've done it myself ) you ALWAYS get worse case scenarios and end up trying to become a doctor yourself and are adamant you'll find a cure. Just be there for him, thats the best thing you can do

Hugs to those who need them. I'm off to have a soak in the bath and an early night. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day :)
Going to get to grips with food shopping again, starting February!
