Vent about a very ignorant cashier in Morrisons

Options
Hi

I hope I am posting this in the right place!

I was in a Morrisons store today - I only went in for a couple of bits.

I was going to the self scan machines but they were busy so opted for the hand basket till next to them.

The cashier was chatting away to her colleague who was restocking the shelves in front of the till.

I put my shopping onto the belt and walked through... no acknowledgement of me even being there from the cashier... she put my items through... still talking to her friend the whole time... didn't even tell me how much it all came to ...I had to look at the screen to see how much and put my card in the machine and waited for 'transaction complete' to come up and took my card out. She was STILL chatting away to her friend with her back to me.

I ended up picking my shopping up and walking out without taking my receipt.

I know I should have probably said something there and then but I had my 4 and 3 year olds with me at the time... but the more I think about it, it's winding me up!

I couldn't even see her name badge as she was facing her friend at the front of the till the whole time!!!

There are many people who would do anything to have her job - it's obviously a chore for her to do her job!

I don't want to hear about why she hasn't been out on her bike for a few weeks as she is walking a lot at the moment and that her and OH go for walks along the canal most nights ...but she'll be using her bike again when she's dropped a couple of stone!!

Thanks for reading if you've got this far!! What has happened to people being polite in shops and decent customer service???

    Thank you!

I know I should have complained there and then but I honestly have never complained about anything before... but this one has really riled me!!

Talk about being made to feel 'unwelcome'!!

That type of thing does irritate me a bit too as it's too easy to make a scanning mistake if they're not paying attention.

Yes, I got what I needed thanks.

But that isn't the point tho!!!

Ignorant c*w should not be dealing with the public if she cannot be bothered to even acknowledge someone standing right in front of her!!

As I have already said, there are people out there struggling who are desperate for jobs who would give anything to be able to work!

Only a couple of minutes before I went to the till, I was in the cereal aisle and a woman had picked up a box of Ricicles - she was looking at the back of the box... a shelf stacker who was on the opposite side of the aisle suddenly came up and started shuffling the Ricicle boxes right in front of her... I heard her say... "you shouldn't do that... you really put people off when you keep doing that". Obviously a regular occurrence in that store with that particular member of staff!!!

I have had people like that, I know some jobs can be boring at times, its just very rude of staff to not even acknowledge you are there, like wise lots of people would love there job

Fortunately most staff are fine I find it tends to be some young staff who do this but by all means not all.

I wouldn't say she was rude as such, but plain ignorant. There are always going to be types like this.

Don't worry yourself about it, I am sure it won't be the last time you get poor customer service
The opposite of what you know...is also true

Unless you say something at the store at the time cannot see why you would want to moan like a keyboard warrior ?
You pay minimum wage you will get some who will give you minimum wage service.
Hope you woke up this morning not bothering about it?
Lifes to short to worry about a ignorant cashier surely ?
