Yesterday I finally managed to get 4 free 8packs of AAA from one store as that was all they had. Tried another with my heart thumping lots of stock and B1G2F and BOGOF SELs so was confident this might work but no and had to make my excuses. When I went back in to get something I actually needed the SA who had cancelled my transaction had given them to the person I know who works there to put back on the shelf and she said he told her they had been going through free on monday. So looks like some stores were quicker to cotton on than others to put glitch right.

My original shop of 6, I took 3 back no problem as said I was not sure which size I needed had bought 3 of each. Have given myself a little lecture though as I should of stuck by that and not chased more as it cost me around the same once I add my petrol into the equation. But the lure of free shopping on this one was a big catch. I'm happy with what I got in the end as they are decent batteries. Well done to everyone who managed to catch a bit more than me.

    Hi all,

Worked for me this morning at 07.35 at Tesco in Hean-r, but the ss till froze, so the SA come over looked at the machine, said that's odd, looking at the deduction. So she asked me to use a manned till, went through ok, then the same woman came over to check, looked at till and said you can go on your way, but i need to keep your till receipt, so on that note i left with 6 pack's of AAA.

So i bet they have fixed it now, thanks to the machine....:j

I took some back I had bought 3 of each size B1G2F in one store and returned 3 as managed to get that size free in another store. HTHs

To add I did only get the £3.50 back that I had paid for them.
  • Thats great, thanks, I'll send my OH in, bought 6 packs, just to make it look like i wasn't up to anything. £7 back will be great, seeing as i already have 24 packs here that I got free.

Those will be Zinc Chloride batteries, whereas these are Alkaline. I think you can get 6 alkaline batteries in Poundland for £1. Zinc Chloride are good for low power devices, like clocks, remote controls. Alkaline are better for higher powered devices like radios, torches, toys, digital cameras - as they last far longer.

    Thanks :T

In that case i shall keep them, as they work out at less that £1.20 a pack. Will be good for the kids toys! :)
