I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Hi all,
DH and I got home at 5.50pm after still doing DD1's bathroom, I have to go back as she now wants the xxxxx hall, stairs & landing painted  Jeez. always on the want !! DH and I have loaded scaffle planks more ladders etc on the roof rack of DH's van ready for tomorrow.
Just had a bath and put work clothes in WM. Pealed & blached some apples DNeighbours gave us, they are now in the freezer. (the apples not the D.neighbours) ;)
Part boiled pots for tomorrow to go with Toulouse sos we brought back from our hols in France, grean beans par steamed, still don't know who left them on the back door step for us.

MONNOGRAM, (:D aka fussymum) when DH phoned to make the app there was a voice mesage saying " if you think your condition is an emergancy please dial 999, he was then put on hold................ only then he could get an app for me. Yes you're right who knows if it is an emergency? I feel sorry for the confused/elderly folks that don't know or don't want to bother emergency services. :(

Well, having been in hospital for a couple of days last week I hoped DS would be OK for a while, but no, back to A&E last night again. He was told he could stay longer last week, but of course, no, he wanted home as quickly as possible. Trouble seems to be his pancreas plus the aneurism causing terrific headaches in equal quantities. Anyhow, we'll be visiting later today.

beemuzed, you must be so worried, sending huge hugs to you all xxxx

FLUTTER, Could you tell me what part of HK and Sing are you going too ? They are amazing places to visit and the culture is out of this world. You will NOT be disapointed at all, there are loads of places to see and things to do that are free.
One thing I would recomend you do is, keep your handbag/luggage close to you, I would give that advice if you were going anywhere in this country or any another.

DH & I stayed with my DB2 in Spain in May this year, we were shopping in the Supermarket and 2 Spanish women came and tried to distract me, one was talking to me as the other tried to steal my purse/wallet . Thankfully I scensed my space being invaded ;)
and I caught her. Neeee Naaaa Neeee Naaaa, police were called and they had a free lift in a Police car.:D All I'm saying is be carefull where ever you are.

    ODG I hope I haven't scared you :o

In HK I'm staying in North Point overlooking Victoria Harbour, and in Singapore I'm looking at staying somewhere in city centre btwn Chinatown and Singapore river (not booked yet)

Hugs for Lou and NPM plus anyone else who wants/needs one :D

Been to car boot and market today, got a couple of bits. Weather was dreadful, rain, rain, wind, rain..you get the picture?

stopped off for pub meal on the way back, place we have been before, 2 for the price of 1, could see they had been very busy, people on next table complaining, aparently their meal took too long and when it came it was not hot enough. Well, pardon me, but if I got a cold meal I would complain BEFORE I ate it, not when the waitress took my pudding order! Felt sorry for waitress as the manager came out and tried to smooth things over with the complaining man, but as waitress said to us when we spoke to her, she had asked them if everything was ok and they said yes!!!! can't understand some people.

Anyways its been a nice day off work, tomorrow will be back to running around before work and after to get things done.

Have to go now as OH wants coffee, cheese and bikkies :rotfl:

    cyas soon xxxx

    Evening all,

Knitting this morning and then back to collect DGS2 from school, OH left in 2 pairs of new trousers to be taken up, my machine not up to thick fabric....nearly died when he bought 2 pairs as he is normally the meanest man alive about buying clothes for himself.

Been colder here to-day, no rain but time to think about the socks and shoes....hate socks, although we did get away without a fire this evening, clothes out on line, will chance them overnight as I doubt if they were dry earlier.

Flutterby....presume you remember to book all your hotels, car, hostels etc via quidco as it takes a bit off to have when you come home broke! Stayed in a very nice hostel in Melbourne, can't remember the name but will get it over next few days, also if moving around Oz there are some great camping places where you can rent a cabin overnight....very cheap as I remember, would advise you to get a silk sleeping bag type thingy made in HongKong or Singapore as it will serve as sheets and take up very little room. Spent 2 nights in Singapore on way back from Oz in 2008, have a ginsling in Raffles....or afternoon tea and try one of the rickshaw things.....not sure what they are called. We went on a bus tour which was hop on/off anywhere that takes your fancy.

Steak, beans, onions and potatoes for dinner, followed by some of the rhubarb cake I have been making this summer....didn't have any ice-cream or cream to go with it as freezer is groaning so I can't buy any until I empty it a bit....little does OH know the delights in store for him dinner-wise in September!

NPM....sorry that you are feeling so badly, hope that doc will be able to sort you out with some meds, take care of yourself pet.

JackieO...lovely to have you back, you were missed. Glad that the holiday was good, although would be livid at state of house, no excuse for that kind of thing, you are paying to have a clean place to stay and not really a holiday if you have to tuck in and clean it before you can use it....know that you will keep the pressure on to get some refund.

Just took a break to watch Extreme couponing....mad really, we certainly don't have the scope here to buy goods worth €300 plus and pay for them with coupons and 1cent...have been watching a bit more carefully but see no sense in buying things you wouldn't normally buy just because they are on offer.

Have totally lost the thread of what I read here earlier, so will just send a huge hug to everybody in need or want of one and wish you all a good night's sleep.
