I agree Comping Cat. I'm a regular comper but don't always have time to read the discussions thread. I always assume the discussions board is for compers with questions about a particular comp. Shame we don't have a sticky for "announcements".0

comping_cat wrote: »Im not making any comments on the OP or tttjay, as i mentioned before, and on previous threads that the people who actually go out of their way to BUY magazines and then post them on here, should be given extra 'protection' for want of a better word, because they are actually paying for something, with money rather than time. As you have mentioned with the ITV comps, the comps are left to certain posters purely because they are impossible to search for - with the search facility taking around 10 minutes to update and the fact the comps are posted as they are broadcast, As far as im aware, these are the only two groups of competitions that have been given the protected status, and all others are find, search, post.
My point in this is that new posters (as in this threads case) will either not know about these rules (its impossible to make everyone read the comping guide!) and most people probably dont even realise there is a discussions sticky - so it is understandable for someone not to know that someone has posted in that sticky they would be late posting.
That is why i mentioned about whether it was possible to get the discussion sticky a proper thread of its own, as Game Over etc in which case it would be more obvious and more people would read it, or as i do when im not able to post, add it to a previous thread (either at the time of posting or bumping the previous weeks thread) and that would mean it is seen more easily.
I was purely trying to find a solution to the problem but seem to have upset instead. That was not my intention, and i wont bother trying to help again.
but you haven't upset cc, not me anyway,
i appreciate everyone's point of view & agree there should be a proper (for want of a better word) board for discussing/posting/information for anyone to post/help/need help/late posting/ask for help covering,
it would be ideal,
i haven't berated the op for posting the comp, as i said in my last post,
"i also agree the op who posted proberly didn't/doesn't know/realise there's a reg poster for the mag, judging by thier posts/profile/thanks etc it doesn't look like they've been on the comps board before & they haven't been back to the thread up to now afaics so proberly still don't know about it"
i also sent this thread to Glad (when it first got loads of reply's)
as tt (as she said in her post & pm) had many pm's asking her to post as usual & asked Glad if tt posted her Tab could the thread be merged, so i think that's very fair to all concernedplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -

I did a quick search of the forum and saw someone had posted the answers to Issue 34, so I figured as I'd already completed Issue 35, I'd add them. This is my first thread and first load of posts; you can all be rest assured I won't be posting the answers again (or maybe even any more threads for a while). I just wanted to contribute and help out; give something back to the website and join in. Hi claire
if you hadn't posted I would have sent you a pm anyway
firstly a big welcome to the comps boardand thanks for finding a comp that hadn't been posted and posting it for everyone :T
Yes the mags comps and some others tend to be posted by the same people every week but with the loads of new people viewing the comps board each week something like this is bound to happen once in a whileregular compers know their way around the board as well as they know their way around their own home
but people just finding it will need time to work out all the rules etc
so for this week let's leave this thread running as it is and thank the OP and tttjay can post as usual next week
I know I've said I'll post up another sticky with some guidelines it's just been a busy couple of weekswhen I do I'll make it a quick guide to posting with lots of links to the proper comping guide for more details
also I think compingcat's idea of posting at the end of the last thread as well as in disc thread is a good one, it all helps but remember there will still be people who don't read everything or don't do it in what most people think is the accepted way, and all you 'older compers'can help by gently pointing people to other threads and the comping guide

if i remember again, if anyone posts the itv comps you usually post, dalkirst or usually someone posts that you post them regularly & that it's generally a good idea to pm you first/&/or check you're not doing them
Could be wrong but i can't recall ever saying to anyone that CC usually posts the ITV comps just like i don't with any of the others that ae posted by regulars:)Darren0 -

Claire, you have nothing to apologise for.
I've been on this forum for years and I might have done the same as you if I had the answers for a certain comp/magazine issue and noticed nobody else had posted them.
Not everybody joins in with the discussions, and not everyone knows who is who and who normally posts which comp, I know I don't!
I think a couple of people on this thread have gone OTT with this as it was a genuine mistake, and especially as you are new.
A bit of consideration because of that wouldn't have gone amiss! :cool:Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
I also agree that the answer to puzzle 9 is 14
Still quite concerned that the answer to this in the op is 13.....all the people I know who have done the puzzle have the answer as 14 (apart from Marina's site)Our Granddaughter, Caitlin Freya is now 7 years old, growing up to be a lovely young lady and our Grandson, Findlay Ewan is 3 years old and still a lovable bundle of mischief
one of each, how perfect

It's been edited now.
I put the answer as 13, but hey ho, that's life. I'm sure not every answer posted on here is correct anyway.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

So sorry about that shellsuit, I don't usually put wrong answers. Must have gone wrong in the puzzle somewhere; unfortunately I can't check where I've gone wrong as I'm at work in my lunchtime and magazines at home. Sorry again.0 -

Don't worry about it Claire and no need to apologise, really! :kisses3:
Even if 13 is wrong, I've still entered for all the other comps because of your answers.
All I meant was, 9 out of 10 answers to comps which are posted here could be wrong, but that's the risk we all take if we don't do and check them ourselves. I'm still really grateful to everyone who posted them though xTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
