Can you show me where i said that rather than what you read and decided to twist it to something i didn't say.
I can only say again what I said earlier.
I do not allow collections on most of my items and it is not offered, I do not feel the need then to expressly make a statement to say I don't allow collection.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Here's a tip - if you want to avoid this, change your location in the listings to United Kingdom, United Kingdom. Then people know you're in the UK but now where you are so they can't try and do the above to you.0

Just put in a note saying "NO COLLECTIONS", then it is perfectly clear...0

Buyers should look in the postage options, if local collection isn't offered then a quick message will let you know whether pick up is ok.
Something I listed last night is pretty small, so I just put in the postal charges, within a few minutes someone messaged to ask if they could collect.
I don't see why sellers should have to put what they don't offer, just what they do.
A lot of buyers don't read the full description & if they do, may choose to ignore it.0 -
I liked crowqueens answer about not getting emotionally involved.Perhaps they are just trying it on,hoping they can avoid the postage.I don't think that is a crime, maybe they are fully expecting you to say no,but if you don't ask,you don't get.I have to say,in a case like this I would out and out lie to avoid offence.Or you could say,the secure unit I am in doesn't allow visitors!:D0

I don't mention that I don't take Euros or conch beads in payment, but I don't take them. I don't mind people asking if they can collect, but they should not bid and only then ask if it is that important to them as I reserve the right to say no.
I know you were being facetious but euro can be exchanged as good as any other currency can (at least for now...)...
I do fully understand people's reticence in allowing collections; I'm sure SG probably asks before he turns up, no need to get so hostile towards him. Surely the answer is, "no, sorry, I don't allow collections" and leave it at that."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

I've always responded with a security issue of being single female meeting up with a stranger. I always point out that collection wasn't an option and when they bidded they entered a legal contract to purchase the item.
They should have contacted you before bidding to ask about the colection issueTurning our clutter to top up our house deposit: £3000/£303.05 we're on our way!0 -

You announce to strangers who can get your address that you're concerned about the security issues of being a single female & having said strangers come to the house?
Might be a good time to rethink that response.0
