Just a quick pop in as I have been AWOL for a fair bit. Unfortunately I have had a few issues going on but I think all is good now
I will pop a proper post up later when I get back this afternoon. I am off out for a couple of things etc in a short while.
I have been flying though, and today I have decluttered 3 loads of washing - 2 loads on the line and the other 1 going around in the machine.
Hugs and love to everyone especially Toots, LL, LW and Vanilla

It's sunny (-ish). :j:T:j
I've just updated my list and now I'll threaten DS1 with food in the hope that it will get him downstairs and moving. Only because I'm doing lunch for myself, though. Otherwise he'd have to get his own.
We'll be busy with errands this afternoon, I think. Need to make myself a mini-list to take with me so I don't forget anything.0 -

Totally get the pain, Tramadol would def help, I have it 24h and it helps take the edge off, its non addictive too, perhaps try badgering the GP for it. Otherwise (if you havent tried it already) cold or heat pack?
Lots of gentle hugs and love to you. x
Tramadol is actually addictive, and has some nasty side effects, but it is considered to be less addictive than that of traditional opioids.
Sharonr - I suffered with a bad back for a few years, a few years ago. If you haven't already had investigations, push your GP for them, and also for a stronger painkiller and or a muscle relaxant.
In my experience, it turned out to be purely posture related and was fixed (relatively) easily with physio. In the meantime though, I did go through a lot of different painkillers, and muscle relaxants, trying to find a combo that brought effective pain relief without making me throw up (which only served to make the back pain worse!). Tramadol was one that had me vomiting immediately, but that doesn't mean you will be the same. And I WAS able to find one in the end that worked relatively well. A combination of Lodine (600mg) and Amitriptyline (25mg).
However, please be aware that most strong painkillers have addictive properties so, unless your doctor advises you to take them every day, don't.
Do you have access to private healthcare at all? Through your work maybe? Or you OH's work? I used my work one in the end, and it was the only thing that got things moving quickly.
I completely understand the depression that comes with it. As if the pain isn't bad enough, it leads to you having to cancel things at short notice quite often, including things you have been really looking forward too, and not everyone understands, and you often end up relying on others and that's hard in itself.
I don't want to suggest anything else, because unless you know the cause, it could make make things worse.
As mine was posture related (and therefore too much stress being put on weaker muscles), moving around and going for walks actually helped to releive the pain. But, it did take me quite some time to work up the courage to try that as it was so painful, and seemed like an illogical thing to do (IYSWIM).
I really hope you can get it sorted soon.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
washing up done, DW nearly finished, lunch made for LO's, and i have made an invoice template. I think i will make the LO's go to the toilet, then venture out to the park for a while.
Will catch up later.0 -
Creeps in to collect list - oh, I like this - I actually do have floor in my bedroom - think I'll remove the nose art from the window tonight.
As per usual, I've had a read then forgotten everyone who needs:grouphug:
Sharonr - as always I have to agree with Toots - think what you can do and accept what you can't. Some time ago I knew I was going to be chair bound for two weeks - so I actually sat down and wrote a list of all the things I could possibly do from that chair - which included chores of one sort or another - a spreadsheet I wanted to create, boxes of paperwork that needed sorting out, e-mails and 'phone calls - as well as fun things - and everything was put in boxes round my chair ready for action. If someone else can prepare things for you to do - perhaps take out a drawer for you and put it somewhere comfortable for you so that you can sort out the contents, catch up on sorting out papers and admin things - other things will just have to wait until there is someone there to help you.
JJT - can you really play bodhran? I want to have a go. And clog dancing. (Wonders whether to update Toots List). All sympathies with your trying visit to the hospital though.
fibromum - special thoughts.
Just about to pack a present and walk round to the Post Office with it ....... and have realised this is end of month/car tax time. This is not going to be fun is it. Then going to the Bank with bags of coins - this is a frog in progress as I can only carry so many at a time - but from a full bag a while ago, a concerted effort means it is now looking as if I may have banked them all by the end of this week.Work is not my Hobby0 -
Fibro - HUGE ((HUGS)) for you lady.

My sister rang and BIL's leg is being left open from anything between 24 hours to 24 days. He's gutted because he thinks he'll miss the birth of the baby. He's been told he's lucky he hasn't lost the leg and he may need to go back down again for more surgery.
Thanks for all the ideas, i'm gonna do a big food shop for her and make some stuff for her freezer.
Flying wise i've sorted some dishes and thats about it, been on the phone all day..:o

Thanks for the reminder - had forgotten to add 'check bank account' to my list, but it's done now.
DS1 is up and eating. We're aiming to be out by 2pm to get a whole lot done today. I've even persuaded OH to finish early and come to costco to look at glasses. Should be able to knock a load of jobs off the list. :T Back tonight. x0
