Need a new car but which model???

So how you finding the Antara then? Whats the boot space like and which model did you get 6 grand off?A new Skoda Octavia 4X4 or scout believe it or not has at least 6 months waiting list.
What Car recently had them top of the list for waiting times.
I test drove the 2.2 santa fe, the 2.0 ix35 and the 2.0 sportage and obviously the 2.2 antara. My preference would have been the ix35 then the sportage, but I was told Hyundai and Kia weren't taking orders for the 2l diesels until the new year and was told don't bother asking for a discount as they can sell as many as they can get a hold of. I couldn't find a local skoda dealer with a diesel yeti or octavia 4X4 to even look at in the flesh never mind test drive. So choice was down to santa fe or antara. Chose antara as it was the biggest discount. You could try broadspeed as they might be able to source a canceled order. Good luck in your search, I love the test driving and the haggling.0 -
Hi I just bought a vauxhall antara 2.2l diesel exclusive AWD for £16500 from Arnold Clark Linwood. That's £6,000 off the list price. Lifetime warranty for first owner. I tried to get an ix35 but i refused to wait 6 months, would be surprised if you can get the diesel sportage any quicker as the problem is Hyundai / Kia can't make enough 2l diesel engines to satisfy demand. A new factory is being built in Slovenia? to satisfy demand, but not soon enough. Worth a look.
I am thinking about getting an Antara, was that a new order vehicle or a dealers ex demo? If i may also ask did you pay outright or take advantage of vauxhalls 0% deal?0 -
Heard a few good things about the Kia. However, if you are prepared to go 'nearly new', then take a look at this:

They don't make them anymore unfortunately but there is a replacement in the pipe line.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -
Need a big boot, don't think that has a boot does it?0

No, just 206 ltrs with seats up. I would go for the Kia then.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0

If you want to pick from the list given then I'd take either the hyundai or kia but I would be looking at an ex demo / pre registered car to save you a bit of depreciation. If I were you I'd still invest in winter tyres on it (unless they come with an all season tyre as standard which might do the job with 4wd )0

Trouble is there is no ex demo or pre Reg ix35/sportages anywhere and the dealers know that, our local has a grey ix35 cancelled order for £24000, he knows he doesn't have to do anything as someone will buy it. To be honest I would rather get the Santa Fe than spend 24G on the ix35?0

I would agree with that, it's much the same car anyway0

If you want to go 4WD get used not new.
I'm with the above (but not in the attic), the chances of fluffing a 4x4 into a ditch through over confidence (in snow/ice) are far greater than a normal car on winter tyre's.... So why trash a new 4x4 just a few months after buying it?
If you REALLY want 4x4, get a proper, older, more capable (non-fashion accessory) 4x4 as a 2nd car, insure/tax it for 6 months and shove it in the back of the garage for the rest of the year while you enjoy easy driving in a normal comfortable family car for the other 98% of the year.
Make's perfect sense!“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Hi
It was the 2.2 l diesel exclusive AWD.
The new face lifted model.
It was brand new, not a demo or pre registered, I had to wait for them to be delivered to the UK. Arnold Clark reserved a load of them hence the discounted price. I paid cash, (bank loan) as I was told the vauxhall 0% finanace offer only applies to cars bought at list price.
It doesn't have a huge boot, but it's big enough. Also broadspeed are doing a similar price, but I don't know how their trade ins work.
It's worth a look.0
