We used a grobag with our daughter (now 22mths) and now using them with our son who is 6weeks old. cant reccomend them enougth, they are supposed to me safer than normal sheets/blankets as the child cant wriggle down under the covers. we have used different makes in the past but usually goback to the grobag version, can be picked up reasonably cheaply on ebay
go for it, i dont think you will be dissapointed

I've been looking at getting these for our first bubba (due in 10 weeks time) and was wondering how many people find they need? My own mum suggested getting 3 (one to wear, one in wash and one drying), but as these things didnt exist 'in her day' thought I'd ask for advice from the experts!!
  • They are brilliant!! My lo is 5 months old now and loved to kick his sheets off so grobags are a godsend. He's got 3 at the moment and seem to be enough. I wash them when hes puked on them but other than that they seem to stay clean. When he was newborn, I used the ones that Asda sell as they have tiny baby ones and newborn ones which arent restricted on the weight of your baby, plus he was born in August last year (the height of the hot weather) and so the Asda ones were perfect. We bought his others from TKMAX and they are fab.
  • My son is 7 weeks old and at 5 weeks I tried putting his official grobag on him, he didn't seem to like it and cried. So it was back to the cellular blanket. Fine for now but he is already a fidget and i'll be up in the night more than I am now!!

What do people dress their bubs in underneath the grobag. Our lad had a vest and sleepsuit on then the grobag. He did seem restricted by it around his head and arms and he likes to be free to move.

Have you any suggestions as I really want to use them on him as in the long run I think we will benefit.

He does seem to get hot when he's in his carseat, so I was wondering if he was hot in his grobag, but he didn't seem to be in it long enough to get too hot, I think he was complaining about the new feeling of it. It was a 2.5tog 0-6 month size.
  • My son wears a body vest, a babygro and a 2.5 tog grobag and he's fine.

If you get the grobag version it comes with a room thermometer and tells you what clothing to put them in

we use a 1tog bag and just use a longsleeved babygrow but out room is very warm

The stripey one that grobag do looks cool - however it keeps our little one awake as she plays with the colours! Go for a plainer one!
  • These have been brilliant for my daughter! Having bought expensive gro-bags from Mothercare, I've since found that Sainsbury's do their own version for £10 (but have always manged to get them for £5 in their apparently constant sales) and they are just as good. The best ones we've had were actually from lidl's about 2 months ago and were only £3.99. I found them indistinguishable in size and quality from the Mothercare ones which are 7 x more!
