I haven't actually used one yet but I've brought a couple for my baby due in April.
Lots of people gave me postive feedback about them. One the label it gives you a guide telling you what you should do for certain temperature. if it's warm you use it on it's own. Under fiddrent temperature you can add a sheet or a blanket. The label gives you all the information.
I hope this helps.0 -
I've used them for both my babies and think they're great. I find the original Grobags the best. There is a minimum borthweight, I think 10lb. I used them from 3 months. They are great as baby can't kick off sheets and blankets and you can gauge temperaure as previous poster has said. Thet are expensive new but I've got some fab ones from Ebay for fraction of the price.0

My son didnt like them .he got / gets very hot
even noe he sleeps in just PJ bottoms and no covers ! lol
but my sisters 2 children slept very well in them, you still use sheets but dont need blankets (unless its really freezing and you have a lightweight sleeping bag)
my sister picked up some as new ones from ebay and they were fab.
they are easy to wash and dry too
aswell as the original GROBAGs she likes the mothercare ones which can be used from 7lbs IIRC
have a look here for info : http://www.gro-group.co.uk/grobag/

I loved them for both my DS dand DD. Their also great if you go away from home as they make baby feel secure. Definatly say everone should have one. I always use a fitted sheet on the cot and offe my baby a nice soft blanket to cuddle up too as well (even if they just have it alongside them in summer). I find Marks and Spencers blankets the best. £12 each but they wash well and are really snug for baby. Great to wrap a newborn in as some are too small.
This is the one

We used the sleeping bag type whilst our son was 3 months up till about 12. Now he is at 19 months he finds it restricts his movement and does not like them so we use thick a Babygro instead. He's as a quilt but kicks it off.
The bags are limited cog rating so on there own not enough to keep him warm during the coldest part of winter. We used to keep the heating on at it's lowest setting during the night just to keep the chill off.Regards,
Dave
If only I had a pound for every time I used the thanks button0 -
They are safe from 8lbs now but obviously you don't really need them in the summer, you can buy summer & winter tog ones just like duvets & also travel ones which allow a seat belt/push chair harness through so a sleeping baby can be easily transferred (don't under-rate the importance of not waking a sleeping baby!). Spud totally loves his & has been in them since birth, they are one gizmo which is sooooo worth the money!Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
I have used a baby sleeping bag with my son from 3 months. They are great and make it easier if they need a feed during the night, as you can pick them out of their cots still wrapped up nice and warm.
I would definately recommend them to anyone. They can be a bit pricey but definately worth it. I got mine from:

My DD used them till 2 and my DS is still in his at 15 months, remember each baby is different and you will only know as they develop. I saw a travel baby gro in Gap the other day and I was very impressed. Remember invest in the items that are important ... sleep!Saving needed to emigrate to Oz*September 2015*

We used Grobags for both our kids between the ages of 3 months and about 18 months. They were at their most effective in winter, meaning that both kids slept through with no middle of the night wake ups - bliss!!
Since this is moneysaving, we bought all ours on ebay for much less than the shop selling prices, and have now 'recycled' them all that way too!
They were one of the best things we ever bought.0 -
I only wish these had been available when I had my daughter! I used them for my son from about 6 weeks old (he was a big baby) and only stopped using them at 2 1/5 when he went into a bed.
I recommend looking in the independant baby shops as I bought his from on for £18 each and they are suitable from 6 months to 36 months. You shorten the length when they are smaller by fastening the bottom with poppers then undo them when your child gets bigger.
As they last so long they definitely pay for themselves. I sold them on ebay when I'd finished with them for and got £15 for the 2 .
Asda also do smaller ones for about £10.:smileyhea0
