  • I'm officially brand new to this - starting today - but I have unofficially 'joined' in once or twice a few years ago.

I guess my target is a little different, as I'd like to make £695 by Christmas, as I have just fallen in love with this:

    Sorry about the size!

So with 107 sleeps until Christmas, I need to earn £6.50 extra per day.

Today I have discovered £12.42 in an old savings account (now my bicycle account), completed £5.20 in surveys, found 5p in loose change, and transferred over £6.43 from eBay sales in PayPal. So £24.10 in total.

I've also photographed some more items to sell on eBay at the weekend.

    Good luck everyone!

    :eek::eek: £695!
I must admit to knowing ziltch about bicycle values, but that sounds like quite a lot of money!!
It does look lovely and shiny though!! And red is always fab :D

Out of interest, as I said I'm a bit naive about such matters, what is it that makes it worth so much!! :o
Half of November Make £10 a Day Challenge: £51/ £170
  • If I'm honest I don't know loads about bikes, but I want one that will last forever. It's the frame that makes it cost so much.

Because it is such a high price I want to earn the 'extra' money rather than just buy it (which I couldn't just do) then I know i will really appreciate it.

Yes, it is lovely and shiny, and as a colour consultant told me once, everyone looks good in red!

Lovely bike! Have you shopped around to try and get it any cheaper? Cruiser bikes (I'm assuming it is a cruiser?) tend to be a little cheaper than other types of bikes, so £695 seems a lot (I may be missing something though as I don't know anything about this particular bike). I recently bought DS1 a cruiser on ebay which was less than half the price it would have been 'in the shops'... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BEACH-SURFER-BOYS-CRUISER-BIKE-CYCLE-BICYCLE-1V7201-/150438185952

Well I listed my first item on ebay with my new username... they charged me 12p for it even though it was a 99p start. They then told me that I was limited to 10 items a month (or £350 worth, whichever comes first). :(
They did give the option of increasing my limit by verifying my paypal account - it's an 'old account' so had already been done... after logging in, my new limit is 100 listings, or £3500 a month. Don't know if I now qualify for free listings (can't find any info anywhere), will let you know when I list again tomorrow. HTHS
  • Can I please have some advice from you ebayers?
I've got an item ending tomorrow, starts at £4 don't think I'll get much more for it, 7 watchers and no bids yet. A lady messages me today saying she's going to bid but can't pay until next weekend& is that okay with me. 0 feedback joined in august. How like likely is it that I'll wait all week and she still won't pay? Is that just cynical and silly?
    Oct £10 a day challenge £225.19/£310
    Sept £10 a day challenge: £272.13/£300

I would give her the benefit of the doubt, it is a positive sign that she is emailing you before bidding - the flakey ones that don't bother to pay don't tend to make contact - they just ignore your emails, lol!
You also can't afford to turn away potential bidders as you never know who's interested in your item - there may be someone who is watching who they can get into bidding war with at the end of the auction :)
  • Today I found two old advantage cards in an old purse in my drawer with over £25 worth of points! So I have phoned up and got all the points transferred onto my current card, so I am going to count this as I had no idea that I even had these. I also did 19p(?!?!) worth of surveys. So my total for today is £25.94 which brings me to £63.01/£150. I'm getting there!
    2nd Purse #036 £46.69/£50.00 :) 3rd Purse £30.02
  • 90p to add from an ebay sale today:o will b listing some more bits over the weekend aswell :)

    Fair point :)

    Fingers crossed it goes smoothly!
