I got a smoke alarm free a few years back from NY fire service, they came to fit it for free, I would have done it myself but they wanted to do it.

:rotfl: :rotfl: Definately worth a price of a cup of tea and a biscuit. Seriously folks if you still haven't got a smoke alarm after all the adverts - and the fact they they are free - you really need to smell the coffee.

Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies
  • You can also make enquiries about Electric Blankets, Chip Pans and Grills.
Only some Fire Services offer it though..
If they test your Electric Blanket and find it to be faulty, they'll replace it with a new one.
They'll replace Chip Pans with Deep Fat Friers, and, if you use a grill they'll give you a toaster.

All this might sound expensive, but it's cheaper in the long run for the Fire Service to offer these

Exactly, it costs a bit of money but in the long run lives must be saved hence less call outs.

My husband is a firefighter and couldn't agree more
There is a forgotten, nay almost forbidden word which means more to me than any other. That word is England.

  • Typical, just looked on Cornwall County Council's website and the Fire Safety bit has no mention of free smoke alarms, just a free advice line. That is so annoying as my alarm went mad and died just before Christams and i haven't replaced it yet.
