Well to be honest if thats the only room some people can have it then they have no choice. What gets me are the people who disgust at the fact someone has a litter tray in their kitchen but then let their own cats walk on the kitchen tops. I think that is the same thing. Even if you wipe the tops down before you prepare food you cannot be 100% sure you have cleaned well. The thought of cats who use a litter tray walking on kitchen services make me feel sick. I never let my 3 in the kitchen at all.0 -
I have a small house with little space so the only place I can put the tray is in the hallway. It's out of the way as it's under the stairs; not ideal but have nowhere else.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

one in the downstairs loo, and one in the kitchen (near the back door and away from cooking surfaces. not that it matters, as the boy likes to nap on damp tea towels!)0

I have two litter trays for two cats. They are kept in the spare bedroom- which is also a dumping ground.
It's actually quite a shame as when visitors come and stay they end up sleeping in the lounge!
New house has a space under the stairs so it will go there.
When I first got my 13 year old we had a one-bedroomed flat, with a gap under the stairs in the bedroom- seemed to be the only place to put it unfortunately. It meant you kept on top of it though!0 -
Kitchen for us - our cat is shut in the kitchen / conservatory overnight, and the conservatory is small and used as a dining room, so at least if she uses the tray during mealtimes it's not actually in the same room! I don't think it's particularly unhygenic there - it's next to the kitchen bin, away from the food preparation areas.Live on £11k in 20110

Your cat will have bits and pieces stuck to the bottom of their feet ater using the litter that they will then track all over your kitchen and anywhere else. The two places our cats definitely aren't allowed is our bedroom and the kitchen for exactly this reason. It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.0 -
Three cats, four litter boxes.
1 in hallway near front door
1 in spare room
2 in my bedroom
Elderly cat gets a bit confused and sometimes poops in the corner of a room, my nose leads me to it. :rotfl:

Daisy's litter tray is in a large stout card box sandwiched between the dining table & the work units.Because of the size of my flat,it's really the only place.Thankfully Daisy doesn't smell the place out.0

My cats have a large utility cupboard all to themselves, 2 litter trays in there, and some random household tools. I could totally do with the storage of that room, but I'm not having the trays in the kitchen *gag* or the bathroom0
