Best place to insure your phone?

I have been looking online to try and find the best & cheapest place to insure my newly purchased iPhone. I am based in n.Ireland. The best I has seen is from an online company called protect your bubble. Has anyone used them before? How easy are they to deal with? Any catches? They say they can insure my phone for £5 vs. Aprox. £14 elsewhere

It is a contract phone, will going with a different company void anything in my contract?

Insurance has nothing to do with the contract.

For some information on "protect your bubble" search this thread for 'bubble': Mobile Insurance article discussion/feedback thread

If you bank with Ulsterbank you can get it insured with them for £9 a month just upgrade to ufirst account. It has other benefits like 10% off holidays and things.

Wish I was with Ulsterbank but am sadly not.

Anyone else, or is there no other option beside shelling out £14 a month?

This depends on what you want:

Have any of you had any experience with purchasing a Squaretrade warranty from Amazon?

I've just got a Samsung Galaxy S2 and they're offering 3 years cover (including accidental, water damage and general breakdown) for £49 which seems a great buy.

Have you checked the cost of adding it to your existing home contents insurance policy?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

You don't need to own the home your in, just the contents of it! There are two parts to home insurance, the building cover and the contents cover. Just select to cover what you do own and not what you don't, many people who rent do this ;)

I can never work out why someone who can't be bothered with home contents insurance would want to insure their phone?

Before you take out insurance, check on the exception clauses. Too many MSE members have reported tales of woe that suggest to me that insurance can be a waste of money as all the main things are not covered!

Because the chances of claiming on the phone insurance are far more higher?

Having said that, I never insure my mobile.
