Farmfoods interview - ridiculous!!

I'm currently trying to find work now that my two children are at school. I applied for a part time position at Farmfoods, as the hours were perfect for me. After a week or so I was invited for an interview, and understandably quite excited!
Interview day I turned up 5 minutes early...I always thought it best to be early than late right? WRONG!! I was told off in the store for being early, as the woman interviewing me 'wasn't ready'!!
Anyway she took me into the office, told me a few details about the job, showed me everyone's holiday entitlements for the year (!!), admitted that she knew nothing about how holidays were worked out, she didn't know what the pay was, and even admitted that she had no idea what she was meant to ask me!!
She took no notes AT ALL during the 'interview' and told me I'd hear today if I was successful. Interview start to finish was less than 5 minutes. My worry is if she made no notes, how the hell will she pass the relevant details onto the area manager?!
I've called the store today to see if I was successful and was told the same - I'd hear today. I've called head office, who have given me the area managers mobile number, but he's not answering!
Sad thing is, I really want the job!!

I don't do well in interviews so I'd love one like this :D

    Hope you get the job!

I would stop harrassing the company because if it gets back that you phoned the store and then the HO the person in charge of hiring is probably going to think you are a pain and not hire you.

Interview sounded rubbish but you just have to play the waiting game!

Wasn't harrassing them, just wanted to know! Just got a call saying I wasn't successful, which wasn't surprising considering they knew nothing about me :D

I have the Asda Magic Assessment next week, so fingers crossed for that one!

This sounds suspicious to me. Maybe she conducted the "interview" in this way because there is a relative or friend of hers who has applied for the job and she wants to give it to them.

Just seems like I never had a chance tbh. On my part the interview went fine. I stated I could work any hours needed, could cover people on sick, had no problems with unloading deliveries etc etc.
To be told off for being 5 minutes early, is in my opinion, ridiculous!

Exactly. Thats whats so suss about it. Its like she was grasping at straws trying to find a reason not to employ you.

That's right - it is a forum rule that it is never the unsuccessful candidate's fault that they did not get the job :D

THat said the OP sounds to be well out of it.

Good luck with the Asda job but I really wouldn't go phoning round afterwards. It will annoy them and they may well say no just to shut you up.

Fingers crossed for this Asda one!

I think it was a bit rude to tell you off for being early to be honest.
If you wanted to, you could complain to Head Office about their interviewing 'technique' but it probably wont do any good.
If they're that bad at interviewing, wonder what they're like as employers! lol

    Good luck xxx
