Tesco value nappies?

I bought a packet of Tesco's value nappies for use with my first child in 2007 and I thought they were rubbish - plasticy outer and not very absorbent.

I was recently reading reviews of these nappies which said they were really good and wonder if they are worth trying again as they are so much cheaper than the branded ones (and even the Tesco's non-value ones).

Can anyone tell me if they have improved them since 2007 and whether they are still plasticy and whether the quality generally has improved?

Thanks!

Just buy a pack and try one!
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

Also to consider with 'Value' is it a false enconomy, would you have to use more frequently?

Not everything value is a false economy.

I didn't use Value ones, but I liked the Tesco Essentials ones when my children were babies.
Here I go again on my own....

i bought some and have used several out the pack and have been imressed, like them better than huggies and tesco own in purple packs tbh. yes they are plasticy but ill continue to use them proberly mostly at home and i ont think they would last all night like pampers green ones do.

  • I used them a few times on my youngest and found them to be ok, you get what you pay for. I used the pull up ones on my eldest when he was potty training and I found them brilliant value, they don't have a picture on them there just white but did the job.

I have used Wilkinsons value nappies since DD was born 18 months ago. They are fine. Yes the outside is a bit plastic but inside is just the same. Maybe they are not so thick or padded as the best brands, but I've never had to change her more often than I thought necessary. I would recomend them to anyone. (Their wipes are only 36p per pack too and are great!)

There was a post on the same subject a couple of months ago, and I tried the Sainsburys basic ones, which a false economy, as not only were they plasticy and horrible, they leaked, so I had to keep washing DS's clothes.

I've since found the Tesco own nappies (not value ones) to be great!

If you're going to buy basics nappies, you'd be better off buying re-usable nappies, which are actually better than the basics nappies!

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
