RM didn't card me, item returned to Ebay seller!

So, this is how it turned out...
Seller refunded me the costs of goods, but not the P&P. They reckoned I had to take up with the PO why I wasn't carded or they carded the wrong address.
Raised an INR, ping-ponged messages with the seller having the contract with the PO and buyer protection meant I shouldn't be out of pocket and not have any goods.
I escalated and Ebay decided in my favour as "We didn't receive valid tracking information from the seller" and refunded the P&P within hours.
FAO business sellers, at least know the rules!0 -

I am sorry, but this happens regularly and I am of the opinion that the buyer has paid and doesn't have his parcel so it is the sellers problem.
As a business seller, I always email the buyer, let them know it has been returned and ask them what they would like me to do. Most ask for it to be resent, some ask for a refund. If I resend, all I ask, is that they confirm their address, in case that was the problem. Asking for payment is a no-no.
Op it's a shame your seller acted in this way, but at least he now knows the outcome.0 -
People like you make being a seller a nightmare.
We sellers though have the ability to raise a complaint with RM, a buyer is completely rerliant on the system. So although it is unfair I completely support the buyer getting a full refund and can't see why he is a nightmare just because he couldn't get his goods delivered?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. if a buyer contacts me to say they have not received their item then i will ask if they want a refund or it resent.
if they want a refund then i will refund them, if they want it resent then i will resend with an extra item included for their trouble.0 -

Yes, our perplexing expectations not to out of pocket when we haven't received the goods is simply outrageous!0 -

Buyer irate and said they had been 'away' and demanding I resend it! It cost nearly £5 to post last time so to resend (whenever I receive it back) will leave me out of pocket. Grrrrrrr.I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0 -
should I just raise an INR
How very kind, if it was Tesco would you just phone your card provider and reverse the transaction?
As it was a business seller you have the option of cancelling your contract for a full refund or asking the seller to resend. As you didn't get a card it would be good service for the seller to cover the cost of this but they aren't obligated to. If I knew a buyer was considering a INR dispute for a non-collected parcel I wouldn't be very willing to go out of my way to help them to be honest, I tell them to open the dispute and wait 10 days for their refund....
This is why recorded is probably a bad idea on low-cost items. Is it worth all this hassle to end up with Royal Mail incompetence forcing you to refund or repay postage? This is not only inconvenient for you but for the buyer - they're not paying to play both the eBay and RM roulette, they're usually buying because they want an item."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

Sellers need to complain to RM that the posties are not leaving cards or even failed to attempt delivery.
When i had my problem the seller was very good and kept me informed. Also i provided him with any information he asked for so he could get a refund and not be out of pocket.
It needs to work both ways, No point blaming the buyer or the seller, Its RM's fault for not providing the service they have been paid to do.
In my case the item was returned to the seller too quickly. Was not held for the 5 or 7 days they are supposed to.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Probably not a brilliant idea as the only person this rebounds on is yourself, particularly in the strikes a dispute and the probable neg and low stars you'll probably get. Your comment about customer service is something you should probably apply in this situation.

Just as the OP posting on RM halfwits, away you go with Royal Mail incomptence.
I have never worked for Royal Mail, but appreciate it is the best service in the world. There coiuld have been a mistake, or the OP may have been a bit half asleep.
Howevedr, I suggest you keep those comments in mind until you have a proper, i.e. paid for, job of your own.
Errors happen in any business. But unless you, have tried to do it yourself your opinions are worthless.
The seller can reclaim his costs, so the OP should not lose out.
But this is an ebay seller. Give him a nudge and he may do the right thing,0
