The RM half-wits didn't card me for an item sold by an Ebay business seller and after 10 days at the mail centre it's been returned to them.
What's the best bet now, should I just raise an INR or get the seller to re-send and they'll have to swallow the P&P costs?

Seller has emailed me to say they've received the goods back, after no collection from mail centre0 -

WHY, the seller posted to you it is not their fault you were not in to take delivery. the item was sent and attempted delivery.
if you want this redelivered then it is you that will have to cover the postage costs to resend it to you.0 -
I am surprised that you did not contact the seller to see where your item was after 10 days of waiting? Where you away on holiday or had you just forgotten about it?
As it is not really the sellers fault I think it should be down to you to pay for the return postage costs.0 -
Were you expecting it to need a signature? I thought that standard post was kept for 3 weeks.0

You never know with the post office, I bought an item some time back, A few days later i contacted the seller to ask when he has or will post it so i know when to expect it.
They replied saying it had been posted the morning i had bought it. Bid and paid at 2am, He had posted it 1st class recorded before 9am.
He said the item was at the sorting office, This was on the 4th day, Went to the sorting office no package.
Went home and contacted the seller, He supplied the tracking number and said he would look into it.
Next morning he emailed me to say it had been returned to him.
This was the 5th day.. I thought they were meant to keep recorded items for 7 days. I dont think the parcel ever left the sorting office, Postman probably thought it was too heavy or bulky and left it behind.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I routinely ask about parcels when I go to my delivery office now as I've had several waiting for me there which I haven't been carded for. If you want the item OP see if you can come to an arrangement about more postage, if not just ask for a full refund. AS it was held for so short a time it suggests recorded delievry.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. A similar thing happened to me. Sold an item and sent it recorded delivery. 5 days later it landed back with me stating buyer had failed to collect. How ridiculous! Luckily, the buyer was a mile away from where I live so I contacted them and hand delivered it. Lady had not had a card, but for it to physically land back with me 5 days from posting was bonkers.0

I've just had the same thing - parcel not collected by buyer (they were carded) and apparently being returned to me (value item so sent recorded and this was clearly stated in the listing and end of sale communication giving them the tracking number etc).
Buyer irate and said they had been 'away' and demanding I resend it! It cost nearly £5 to post last time so to resend (whenever I receive it back) will leave me out of pocket. Grrrrrrr.0 -
should I just raise an INR
How very kind, if it was Tesco would you just phone your card provider and reverse the transaction?
As it was a business seller you have the option of cancelling your contract for a full refund or asking the seller to resend. As you didn't get a card it would be good service for the seller to cover the cost of this but they aren't obligated to. If I knew a buyer was considering a INR dispute for a non-collected parcel I wouldn't be very willing to go out of my way to help them to be honest, I tell them to open the dispute and wait 10 days for their refund....In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0
