Are you allowed to buy cheap school uniforms? Poll help needed

State junior school - we can buy plain or can purchase logo items from the school which most do as they are very good quality and a good price.0

As you are asking about what you have missed in the poll: you have missed "school is the supplier"; special needs schools; and specific sports (or other specialised) kit questions.
Because a few authorities have a 3-tier, or "3 - 19" system, I would list the questions, then have a tick box for primary, secondary, or "other" & private, state, or other (I think it interesting to see what "academies" are doing.)
You have also missed a couple of options that apply to very few schools indeed, but to some that I know:
the school supplies the uniform for free - 1 is a strange ( but lovely) old charitable foundation, another is a new "academy".
the school means-tests for the cost of uniforms (another educational charity)0 -
Do you want the poll to include options like
The school run a second hand uniform shop
The school have a uniform bursary you can apply for
Also Junior schools are for 7-11 year old. Maybe better to replace with the word primary, which is for 4 - 11 year olds.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

My dd is just moving up to middle school, depending on how your child grows it can be expensive having three different school uniform!
All the uniform is from a couple of suppliers except the trousers/skirts, I went in there the other day and they still have no pe socks and no idea when they will be in, embroidered socks too and it is a state school
The pe kit alone cost about £50:hello: Hiya, I'm single mom, avid moneysaver and freecycler, sometimes  but definatly

My 2 teens are both in a state high school.
Everything but shirts/trousers must be branded from a specific supplier
It drives me mad, £20 for one skirt, £40 for a blazer, and don't get me started on their PE kits!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Our local schools have some items which can only be purchased through the school itself, such as school bags,4sets school suits, shoes one pair,0

I'm not sure if buying 'cheap' is the main issue here, it is more are you allowed to choose where you buy.
I don't buy supermarket uniform as I find the quality and fit are awful and it is a false economy. I tend to buy from Next or M&S and the clothes last for years (passed down from one child to the next).
I would also consider whether the clothes that you are obliged to buy from a certain supplier (and pay a premium for) are better quality or not.0 -
2 children at primary, the jumpers and polo shirts have to be the logoed ones or they get sent home

State primary - most uniform can be bought from the supermarket, but the sweatshirt can only be bought from the recommended supplier.
However, the school handbook suggests that the uniform is voluntary - although everyone wears it.0 -
State junior School: Most items are branded and can only be had from local school uniform shop, at rip off prices.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession
