HP Touchpad - Tesco not refunding the difference.
seequis
In summary.
People have purchased the HP Touchpad from Tesco. Since purchasing, the price has dropped significantly for both models.
HP have publicly stated that their retail partners should pass this on. Whether they do is up to the retail partner.
Currently, Tesco are mulling this over, according to their Facebook page.
This thread is to help those who have purchased Touchpads and are looking to have the difference in price refunded.
Share your views as collectively you will have a louder voice, hence the formation of this thread.

I am one of the unlucky to buy it from Tesco. I should have bought it from Dabs/BT/Argos but it was a mistake to choose Tesco over. I really hopped Tesco would do better than others but proven wrong.0

Same position. Bought two on monday and picked them up yesterday. They are still in bag and boxed. Its killing my hubby lol. but I am not opening them unless the price drop is carried out. Just waiting for these updates on FB etc:)0

Thanks for setting this up.
As I have mentioned in the other thread I have built up a rapport with the Direct manager at the store I've purchased mine from who said he would keep me in the loop. I'll be sure to pass on information relevant to Tesco HP Touchpad purchasers.
Incidentally, I feel frustrated by everyone saying that I am abusing Distance Selling Regulations by returning the product if there is no price drop. I'd just like to clarify, I went to the store and purchased these face-to-face and therefore I am, as with any electrical purchase from Tesco Direct, taking advantage of the 28 day return period and not abusing the law as others seemed to think. /rantover

http://www.facebook.com/tesco the link for Tesco on FB
@TescoOnline Twitter
These are two links you can use to help in putting pressure on them.
They do not have to pay back the difference but they may bow to pressure as it is quite clearly a bit naughty... but, like I say they are not doing anything wrong.0 -
Oh, and I think if you do not open the product you can return it for a refund no problem. Correct me if I am wrong and it has to be in 28 days. It may turn out that Tesco realise this (I would have thought they would have by now....) and the costs associated in brining it back, paying the customer back and then trying to sell at original RRP... not gonna happen so I have a feeling the costs will be returned... otherwise they'll get a load of touchpads coming back.0

I'm in much the same position - I ordered on Monday evening for store collection. This gives me 14 days to collect, after which the order is cancelled and my card is refunded, due to Tescos own T&Cs (nothing to do with DSR). I'm hoping that the price is reduced, obviously, but if not then Barclaycard have just lent Tescos £450 for a couple of weeks and I haven't really lost anything.
I also have a "forward order" accepted and charged at PC World, but they don't appear to have the stock necessary to fulfil that order. A bit naughty, that.

I would check on the stock... if they don't have it at the moment, they will soon, I am sure otherwise it would have been cancelled.0 -
Thanks for setting this up.
would be good if we could get all those in the same position on here so we can judge just how big this is.
I wonder if anyone has cracked and gone for a full refund already?
If Tesco have said they will provide an update soon then it could be encouraging. Maybe they are attempting to come to an agreement with HP?Spend now, Save Later!!!! :beer:0 -
Here's hoping0
