  • it probably was tested when the supplier recieved it, sat 6 months in the cold and damp with no oil, seized and they didnt bother testing on sending itout. it gets to you mechanic and for the sake of a few mins cranking the crank with a spanner didnt bother and went ahead and fitted it, only to get to the stage where he tried fitting the alternator belt realized the bottom pully werent turning and thought !!!!!!!.

    had your mechanic turned over the crank outside of fitting it, would have prevented you incuring a labour charge for fitting, so i would be asking your mechanic to remove the unit free of charge for NOT CHECKING IT before fitting. contact the supplier and ask for another unit to be sent, as for the engine its not as described, and not fit for purpose, if you go that rout you will most certainly hit a brick wall and have to go to court for cost, your going to have to be calm collected but firm to arrange another engine.
