Hello,
My upgrade is due soon and I have searching for a brand new toy to play with, however Orange think its amusing to only offer me a 24 month contract to upgrade.
I am looking at getting the Samsung Galaxy S2
I have been with Orange since 1999, I have two contract phones with them (spending approx £100 a month on bills)
I would rather stay with Orange as the hassle of porting my number to another network will drive me crazy (But I am not telling Orange that)
So I have come here for tips in approaching Orange to make me a deal or I leave (I wont, but they are not going to know that) I want a max 18month contract and whilst I am at it, maybe a few freebies thrown in to, but my goal is an 18 month contract.
Advise welcome PLEASE
Also if worst comes to worst and they dont back down, was thinking of downgrading to PAYG then take out a new contract with them for 18months and get a Samsung that way.
Thanks

Do some research on current retention deals and deals for new customers.
Call them and request the PAC. It is active for 30 days, but you are not obliged to use it.
They will call you with some offers.
Orange Retention Offers
BTW, porting is a very simple action.0 -
I just upgraded with Orange the other day.
I'm a relatively low value customer, I was spending about £18 per month with them. I called retentions but their offers were awful - admittedly I was after a much better phone than I've had in the past, but all the offers were 24 month despite me asking for PAC codes and so on.
I've always upgraded over the phone as that's where the best deals have always been, but on the off chance I went into the shop in town and came out with HTC Desire S free on an 18 month contract, £30 a month, (but I am a council employee so get 25% off that) with 500 mins, unlim texts, 750 internet. Might be worth popping in and see what they can do esp as you spend a lot with them.Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -
I just called Orange as my Vivaz has died on me I went straight through to redemptions and tried to swing a deal.
2 weeks away from upgrade (Earliest upgrade date) told her that I love Orange, I have two contracts, 12 year’s service etc etc and advised that my SE Vivaz has just died, I would like to take my upgrade early and only have a 18month contract.
They were unwilling to help, which I suspected as my upgrade is not yet due.... Will try in a few weeks when my upgrade is due and see what they say.
I then got passed to Orange Care and as they no longer have the Vivaz in stock, got myself a Nokia N8 coming tomorrow and they waived the excess as I would not accept any other phone than a vivaz and they could not provide.
So a small result.... watch this space for my upgrade saga!!Pretend you've arrived too early for a car boot sale by standing in a large field while looking at your watch.

Only upgrade at the END of the contract - not the earliest upgrade date.
ALWAYS request your pac.0 -
Hi Silaqui , can you explain how you get 25% off being a council employee. I also work for the council and not heard about this. Thank you0

Hello,
Today is my first date I can upgrade, thought as I was sitting in the sun drinking a cold beer that I would give them a call and see if they were willing to do anything today.
I have been offered the following:
700 mins
Unlimited Texts
1.5GB monthly download limit
18 Months
Free Samsung S2
all for the grand total of £32 a month!
To be honest, I was just happy getting 24 months down to 18 months, the rest is a nice bonus.
PLUS!!
Since my Vivaz died last week, they sent me a lovely Nokia N8 and after looking at a few recycle site, its worth £142!! shall be selling that when my Samsung comes, thanks for all your helpful advice.
TIP: I personally like to have a general chit-chat when I want a better deal, it pays sometimes to be nice polite and chatty and also a little cheeky does wonders!Pretend you've arrived too early for a car boot sale by standing in a large field while looking at your watch.
