Does anyone know who HFO are?

We just got one in my other halfs name, and I can't work out what it would be for.

They are an underhand company that are basically debt collectors in my eyes. They will have been sold or bought debts from a company your other half owes ( or possibly doesnt!) money to
    Numbers 02084179100 02084178198 08000720723
  • I have received one of these cards today also. It says exactly the smae as the others already mentioned on here.

I did call them and they asked for my 1st name of which I gave and they then said no it's the wrong 1st name and proceeded to tell me the 1st name of who the package was for. This turned out to be my Mother-in-Laws name.

I asked why I had the card and they said because the sender added your address as well as hers they then said her address also. We both live in different counties and 26 miles from each other. I gave no more information than that and my phone has the number is blocked so I hope that they don't call me any more. Mother-in-Law on the other hand don't have her number blocked so I assume she could be in for some phone calls.

Strange thing is when she called as asked for the person who sent the package they said HFO Services but they cannot now let her have it as the sender had requested that it is returned to them. So was this for purly for more information gathering or what.

This is what prompted me to serch the interent and it didn't take many seconds to find this thread.

I see from their domain name registration they have blocked their details from the WHOIS lookup:

Not unusual behaviour in itself as it helps stop spammers but unsual for companies to do it.

Also debt collecting agencies have to follow a code of conduct. I have a very strong suspicion that this tactic does not meet this so it may be worth speaking to CSA, or at least reviewing their site: http://www.csa-uk.com/csa/code-of-practice.php
  • Nice to see that I'm the only one who is getting peeved with HFO.

I've been having a run in with them for some time and they appear to operate outside of the law. I've never received any written correspondence from them and won't give them any information over the phone trying to force them to reply to my letters, which i sent recorded delivery of course.

They only ever phone me at work after cunningly sending a slip to my house which looked like a private company package delivery slip, of course when you phone the number they just take your contact phone number and then say they will call you back, which in a few weeks they do with alarming regularity and efficiency.

The easiest thing would be to pay off the debt, which I dispute to the nth degree, but bleep them, its become a moral stance and they deserve to be shut down. They are rude, cunning, intimidating and true ball breakers.

I've done some research on them and their company is HFO Services Limited and you need to force them to get the registered office address rather than the PO Box which they are more than happy to hand out.

Address for the official company is: -

HFO Services Limited (Company No. 05120067)
    Kings Parade
    Lower Coombe Street
    Croydon
    Surrey
    CRO 1AA

The nice thing about companies is that they have to keep records available to the public so the two persons who run this company are:-

Also connected to HFO Services Limited are Turnbull Rutherford Limited, the legal arm supposedly. Turnbull Rutherford Limited have Ian Turnbull and Alasdair Turnbull as the directors and these two also live with Kevin and Badhri in Manor House, they must really like one another!

    Turnbull Rutherford Limited's address is:

    Highland House
    165 the Broadway
    Wimbledon
    SW19 INE

Ontrack Investigations is connected with HFO Services Limited also and has the same address ie

    KINGS PARADE
    LOWER COOMBE STREET
    CROYDON
    CR0 1AA

I've had calls from Sugandha, William Blakc, Richard Williams, Richard Sony Bridges, Sarah, Anil to name but a few and have probably had a couple of hundred calls.

The amounts that have been requested have varied and changed depending on how much I seemed to know. I always ask them if its okay to record the call, they always say no then I wind them up about why. They aim to get you angry to make you react, its much better to get them to hangup and not tell them anything. It could be anyone calling unless they have sent you official written correspondence.

One thing I still am getting to the bottom off is the status that they operate under. As far as I am concerned they have purchased any debt they chase for about 1p in the £1 so its worth them systematically chasing no matter what the circumstances are. They tell me they are not a debt collection agency but if they are asking for payment of a debt what they hell else could they be.

Hope anyone else finds this information useful. I've sent legal notifications to them requesting information along with the £1 payment needed and they then ask me if that is the initial payment.

Its time to bring them down and using their tactics.

    Good luck crunchees!

    Hi all,
Back in 2004 - 05 i had a mobile phone contract with hutchinson3g. I experienced nothing but problems with the signal reception and handset in general. So i wrote to them on a number of occasions to try and sort it out but didn't get anywhere. In the final letter i told them that i was canceling the contract because they wasn't supplying me with the service expected but they was adamant i had to pay of the remanding 3 months of the contract so i wrote a final letter to them back in july 05 and basically told them where to go and threatened to take it to the telecommunications ombudsman i never received a reply to this letter so i assumed the case was closed.
Two weeks ago when i was on holiday from university i came back to see my parents for a week and a leaflet arrived from a company called first directlogistics saying they had a packed for me.I phoned there number and they said it was from hfo services so i explained to deliver to parents house, but informed them i was just visiting and gave them my student address to contact me, but they kept harassing my parents and ringing there phone up to 4 times a day even though they new i no longer lived there.
I wrote them a letter this week asking for a C.C.A. request enclosed a £1, and they phoned me to day on mobile saying that they refused it because its a mobile phone contract and different to loans e.t.c. .
So could anyone give me some advise as what to do because there saying it was an 18 month contract wheres i believe it was a 12 month contract. Also they can be quite rude and threatening as the person i spoke to today was saying they can put a charging order on my parents house even though i don't live there anymore and send the bailiffs round is this true?

One of these popped through the door today, no in my name..

Shall ring them on the way to work from a payphone so they dont get my number
  • I received a card from them through my door today while I was at work. Thankfully I checked out the wed address, which was dodgy and didn't phone. Not sure why they are contacting me. Sure I have debts, but they are all in order. Hope they don't pester me again. :-(

Also 02030248538 02030248540 07918764738. Do NOT ANSWER the phone, if it is a number then ring back, HFO Services like to use scare tactics AND do not ask security questions. Demand a copy of the SIGNED CREDIT AGREEMENT, they get really scared, but if they do not send it, you dont have to pay them.
  • partner rang me today whilst i was working, asking whether i had ordered something from a catalogue. stated i had a missed parcel card from first direct logistics. tbh i had never heard of them so decided to give them a call!! was held in a queue for over an hour so i hung up....good job!!1 boyffriend had a look on the net to try and find a alternative number for them ,typed the company name into google and up this forum popped!! obv i am very worried as they have my personal details and im very worried asd to how they may use them! i am not in any debt and never have been so im confused about this! decided to ring the local police station. they told me to take the note into the nearest police station to be looked at, which i did. unfortunatly until they act nothing further can be done. im not too concerned for myself as i am able to defend myself, but reading in other forums it has been noted that these people can become rude and quite forward. now if an elderly person was to answer the door and not really be too concerned and signed for this parcel, and the courier demanded cash after they had signed, would they feel obliged or feel intimidated to pay up to these demands??
this is a nasty scam by the sounds of it guys, im going to contact trading standards and see what they have to say! i have read another forum in which it says that some areas of the policing dept are aware fo this and trading standards are also aware!! any advice on my next steps?
