What's wrong with secretaries earning £40K?

Nothing at all, but purporting it to be an indication of a "Normal" wage is wrong.

My boyfriend believes that house prices are going to crash dramatically in the next two years, so much so that the flat I purchased two years ago for £116,000 will only be worth half that in a few years' time. He says he wants to wait for two years before he buys somewhere because prices will be cheaper then.
Please can you tell me that this is just total rubbish and the logic is bizarre???????? Surely even if the value of my flat did go down that much I could just hold fire before selling it for the value to go up again ?????? Please help. Thanks x

I hope you listened to him.

I checked her previous posts... and she never posted again on this thread.
What a cheek. All that interesting debate.

Bet he's left her now for that younger, prettier sister that was mentioned at one point.

Good resurrect of an interesting read!

hindsight :O. WOnder if she is contactable this be brill to find out what they did.
  • Nobody knows is the truth - I spoke with one EA who said next year things will be much worse - spoke with her colleague at a different branch who told me prices would pick up in March - Was in a different EA heard guy telling couple to sell their property (on the market with them) and then rent for a year because prices would fall at least another 10%, his colleague told me prices wouldn't go any lower so should decide quickly what we were going to buy. You have to decide what you want to do and stop worrying about if and what. Also if you're house loses value so does eveyone elses.
