Well I have reserved... I cannot collect until this afternoon anyway so I will give it until lunch time to see if I receive an OOS call and if not I will call them to check before heading there.

Thanks op. I just reserved one in my local store, but it says I can't collect until tomorrow, if it's in stock why do I have to wait until tomorrow? Have just been reading the other thread about b&q reserve and collect system, so don't hold any hope of getting the chimnea now which is disappointing as my dh has wanted one for ages.

What we did is ring the store just after we reserved it because I was going into town yesterday anyway as our reservation said pick up today. The man went and found one for us and put it behind the till straight away and we picked it up a couple of hours after original reservation. It made the original reservation a bit pointless but we got one!!

Oh my gosh where do they get their staff??

I just called, and was told oh well if you reserved it you cannot pick it up until tomorrow, ok well can you tell me if you have any in stock well I could but you have one reserved so it wont be ready until tomorrow... gahhhhhhhh. Anyway eventually he told me thier system says 3 in stock... I am still not convinced but will go this afternoon, realllllly want one so fingers crossed.

The B&Q lady I picked mine up from yesterday told me she had had over 150 reserve and collect orders that day for various things, more than they had ever had!

No phone call to say it was out of stock and i didnt get there till 11am.
shop not busy and reservation bit was not busy at all.

Thanks for the advice, but got a phone call an hour after I reserved it to say it's now out of stock:(

I reserved 6 items yesterday and i got the phone call about 4 of them but i double checked that the other two were waiting for me to save wasted journey...yes she said, hubbie gets there and only one item reserved now and the kite had gone.

Hubbie said he saw one guy walk upto collect bit picked a chimnea up and walked to the till with it and he didn't even speak to the staff, just took what he fancied :eek:
