Can we Count on Low Cost Quick Turnarounds or are they a risk to our security?

Oh come on Richard, like you, I have been around the block. I know when I am witnessing a cluster !!!! of a passenger counting problem. I also know when I am witnessing abdication of accountability or get-on-with-it-itis. I know when I have witnessed an unusual method for hastening ID checks at or somewhere near the gate, with half a queue then being waved right through the physical gate on the assumption that the makeup of that queue has not altered in the five minutes since a staff member cruised it tearing off a bunch of strips up to and including the lady with the luminous green hand luggage. And finally I know that cabin crew should not be diligently accounting for Mars Bars and Scratchcards when they are supposed to be dliligently preparing for takeoff or landing.

Nope I didn't write to the CAA as I am not sure they are the regulator on this one and as you now, I find it easier to write what I see on MSE in the full knowledge that it gets a good airing :money:

You are seeing problems that don't exist, because of your lack of understanding of operational matters.
You haven't written to anybody because you would probably get a clear explanation and that would have the soap box kicked from under you.
By all means stay on the soap box for amusement of others.

On what basis are you telling me that these problems do not exist?
