Hi
There's a patch for Firefox to improve memory use.
It's going to be included in Firefox-7.0b2.
Probably it will update tonight or tomorrow.
Information is here:- https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=678422
To find out exactly which version of Firefox is running...

I have noticed that my browser seems to be taking a long time to connect on certain searches that I rarely saw before.
My PC is pretty quick IMO an dis XPSP3 with 2.5 GB RAM.
Quite often it is saying "can't find server" and then if I click "retry" it finds it straight away too.
I have run speedtest over five cycles just (Ping, Down, Up)
1.) 0.39 - 4.5 - fail
2.) 0.41 - 9.06 - 0.86
3.) 0.40 - 6.5 - 0.81
4.) 0.40 - 5.65 - 0.56
5.) 0.41 - 9.33 - 0.86
These are all wireless.
The ping speed is a lot lower than I normally achieve.
Any ideas?
I've had the same problem with it saying 'can't find server' then finding after clicking retry. It seems to have cured itself now, there may have been a small update that came through today.
I've had a few minor niggles with FF6 and it blocked quite a few add ons which is a nuisance, but don't like IE and can't be bothered setting up Chrome or anything else in the interim period.
Might try the FF beta version mentioned by others.0 -

Looks like I shall migrate ALL my regular favourites to Chrome. - Do find it a real pain having to re-do everything so will just leave FF for occasional visits.Truth always poses doubts & questions. Yep seems to mirror my issues.
I wasn't too bothered about addons only really use camelizer on Amazon (price trend monitor) and that worked on 6.
I have just upgrade to beta.2 I will let you know how I get on.
On FF4 when I used CCcleaner , as I do each evening, it nevr had to clean temp internet files but I notice now that these need to be cleaned and can be quite chunky."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....
