Browser seems to have slowed down

I have recently upgraded to FFv6.0
I have noticed that my browser seems to be taking a long time to connect on certain searches that I rarely saw before.
My PC is pretty quick IMO an dis XPSP3 with 2.5 GB RAM.
Quite often it is saying "can't find server" and then if I click "retry" it finds it straight away too.
I have run speedtest over five cycles just (Ping, Down, Up)
1.) 0.39 - 4.5 - fail
2.) 0.41 - 9.06 - 0.86
3.) 0.40 - 6.5 - 0.81
4.) 0.40 - 5.65 - 0.56
5.) 0.41 - 9.33 - 0.86
These are all wireless.
The ping speed is a lot lower than I normally achieve.
Any ideas?

Maybe some of your addons aren't suitable for Firefox-6.Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0 -
Have you tried Firefox Aurora yet, wooosh!! Its in Beta and I think it may upgrade your version 6 but I have been using it for a bit and for a Beta it seems to be stable enough (don't quote me on this though as it is a Beta, and some of your plugins may not work either)
To be honest it's the quickest Browser I've used to date.0 -
what about IE?
I knew you would ask that.
Just tried it on IE seems to be "instantaneous" on half dozen searches.
Speed test very similar."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Try running Firefox with a new clean profile for a while.
Maybe some of your addons aren't suitable for Firefox-6.
I have very few add ons how can I clean it?
I know it said it couldn't run 3/4 when I upgraded and said it would check when add ons were sorted and reenable them."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Disable add ons
Clean webpage browers stored in cache on browser
clear any favorate pages you no longer want
Check for any malwere (malwerebytes)
only thing i can think of that could slow you down regardless of the browser

Create a new one.
Read where it explains "Accessing the profile manager" and "Creating a new profile".

Wow, you're right it's pretty speedy. Adblock Plus works, but hope the rest of the speed isn't just due to the remainder of my extensions being incompatible
To be clear I'm using Firefox Aurora 8.0a2, and not the Firefox Beta. I usually stay away from alpha software, but running it out of a sandbox so it doesn't affect anything else.
It's faster than Palemoon, which in turn is faster than the Firefox releases.0
