Today was a bad day...I hate hospitals and staff who can't do their jobs. After all the stress of surgeons not reading notes and having to fight to get the reconstructive surgery promised, the nurse said that had changed and I wasn't. Then we read the surgeon's letter, she had misunderstood it, and then said nothing was set in stone.
So long story short, my BP shot up 30 points. no-one can confirm anything for definate as surgeons out of the country at conference and I'll find out what they're doing just prior to surgery. I ended up at Maggies Centre and cried all over them. So going in next Tuesday and unless they are doing what I think and they promised I'm not staying. They are not carving me up and leaving it half done.
Sorry really needed to rant.
Lawyer Boy texted me and told me to point out to them he is a litigation solicitor who specalises in Personal Injury and he'll be happy to come and chat to them. Made me feel better that someone can be all stroppy on my behalf. And he gave me a very gentle bo11ocking re the will and Power of Attorney. They're being sorted now.
Missed lunch due to being there 4 hours dealing with this fiasco and SB feeling sick again.
Does someone want to come and shoot me...please.

May well be out and about at the weekend though, so if you fancy a coffee somewhere then I'll have fed Fred plenty of petrol by then so can travel. Unless it snows, in which case I'll brave buses
Excellent plan to threaten them with lawyer man though, kick their @r$e$0 -
Can't believe they put you through so much stress ..don't they think everything is stressful enough. It maybe that they've had to change implants as there was some leaky cheap ones being used in some authorities and they are now banned..am sure they'll do what was agreed with you as that will be what you signed for.Good that you have your lawyer friend to help you0

Thanks FF. Be grand to meet up for a coffee if the weather holds. I'll drop you a text tomorrow.
Thanks Taxi, I'm afraid they don't have that excuse as we've no plans to use implants...they're going to restructure from existing tissue.
Thanks SH, very kind thought and have you all rooting for me is fantastic support. The stress part could be avoided, they just seem to open their mouths and say whatever they fancy. I think they get away with it most of the time, issue is I'd fought so hard for this I immediately knew when she started describing something different. I suspect many people wouldn't have known as they'd (very reasonably) trust the professionals.

Hi KJ in my experience of the medical profession I often find it pays to do your own research and know your stuff - that way you know immediately if they go off plan. It can however also add worry as we non-medical people can easily label ourselves with everything google churns out LOL

That's good that they aren't using implants as one less thing to worry about0

Thank you all.
I've been productive today and need to finish off some things this evening.
Spoken to solicitors and legal title changes are ready to go on the 4 flats that require them. Just need to get ex-OH to sign and he's already said he will do so.
Will is pretty much drafted. Just need to agree 1 clause and then I can print and have witnessed.
Power of Attorney. After Gnome Boy headed for the hills after running away when all this became too real, POA was never lodged. I asked Lawyer Boy if he would do given he knows me well and he's a big, sensible grown up who will look out for a Small Boy. I'd rather have that than a faceless solicitor who doesn't know me from Adam.
So tonight I have to draw up an inventory of assets and liabilities, bank accounts, pensions, companies, properties and contacts. That should keep me out of mischief for a bit. But then it's done, we can file and get on with the living part of life.
Also spoke to Grandad about a POA as he's now 84. He's agreed it's sensible and I'll take that role for him.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0
