It would be fab to meet you in person El.

I think Beanie and Rising we're talking about two get togethers.

First weekends of November and December?

Due to my inability to organise a knees up in a stairs factory I shall defer to the lovely ladies and turn up where and when they instruct

Taxi was wonderful. She had good days and bad but was never mean or small with it. She helped me a lot through my chemo days just gently pushing me forward and letting me ask the questions only someone who'd been there would understand.

The world was a better place for her having been in it and there is no finer testament than that. It's a very sad day.
Thats a beautiful way of putting it, kissjenn, absolutely beautiful. Well said.

    It's the week after - 2nd Nov

I've got something on already that weekend, El, if I'm well enough (virus is very energy sapping, thats all). Plus, I was going to say, I doubt I can afford the fare - just checked on thetrainline, and its about £140 _pale__pale__pale_ which is a bit of a shock  But thats a really kind offer, I appreciate it a lot :kisses3: thank you. I think I'm going to have to do a little Scottish tour next year - Pippi, you, a cousin on a loch by a naval base somewhere (he keeps sending me photos of submarines!) and an author I've got to know who's going to sign copies of his work :) ). I'll run some dates by you.

Wow that's an expensive train ticket.

Hopefully we'll see you soon, when you're feeling stronger and have robbed a bank to get a ticket.

Gossipy stories maybe forthcoming tho :D

Excellent...you'll be so busy clapping your hands over your ears to protect them from the signing that you'll have nothing to hold on with.

My first thought was  but then I remembered ..... I'm sure you've been going to singing lessons so it can't be all that bad :D

I just hope it can be before Pippi leaves Orkney - I really want to see Skara Brae. Can go there anyway, of course, but still :)

That train ticket was a shocker! I'd best look at my Christmas ticket to Merseyside

I'd love to go to Orkney...it's one of those places I've never got round to. I did look at the ferries and they were off the scale. No idea if it would be cheaper flying, especially when you add in petrol and the driving time, and hiring a car at the other end.

Other thing I want to do, but SB looks at me as if I'm mad - me!! - is to fly into Barra, stay for lunch or a poke of chips and fly out again because the runway is the local beach.

I started doing the sealed pot in 2010 (I think) to give us treats like a wii when the house extension finished in 2011. Minute the extension finished I got ill and so kept putting in to have a holiday at the end of 2012 but got ill again. So I have one pot full and another filling up. Part of me thinks it'll be bad luck :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:if I open them but I could put it to some fun stuff like this.

Any thoughts or ideas out there. I have no idea at all what's in them btw. Some weeks I'd put in £5 or £6 in 1 and 2 pound coins and then forget for a few weeks. Should I keep going and open with everyone else at the end of November?
