Exactly what I was thinking.0 -

A Tesco Metro is a small store. It's commonly a shop that's taken over a large corner or community shop, probably because the bigger ones have ruined the business potential of the orginal shop in the first place.
I've seen them at the centre of residential estates, on petrol station forecourts and so on.0 -

Metro = trying to sound cool. but really say "We are in the highstreet"
From my R&R trials, Metros = some PS2 and 360 games, Tesco = top 20/30 ps2/360 games, Extra = The works and then some. Express = don't waste your time.0 -

Yeh I remember driving 60 miles only to discover that the Tesco in this remote town was indeed a Metro.
Very disappointed I was (was in the middle of a console fiasco).
I was just about to leave empty handed when I saw "XBOX" just behind a pillar.
No mispriced XBox but another mispriced PSP and Tekken bundle.
As I was at CS, the store manager walked past on his way home, and said to confused CS lady....." Goodnight, just give the man his money back and the goods".
After talking to the CS, I found out that nothing like this had ever been done in that store.
So dont dismiss Metro's.....also had phones from them as well.
A lot of people would also argue (through experience) that Express's, aren't indeed a waste of time.Couponing....."every little hurts"
Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.
"I'll let you be in my dreams if I can be in yours, "I said that............................ Bob Dylan 19630 -
Yeah, I got a fair bit from Metro's, but find the Express a waste of time. I don't buy CD's or DVD's.0

I saw a small cardboard cube for this yesterday saying something like "buy this + Tekken for £xxx.xx and save £19.xx" - I'd be grateful of any further details on the misprice in case this is another one.
Thanks."Life was easier when I didn't have a clue"0 -

What's that in the distance???
Ahh, hordes of yewts about to invade this thread for a free Console
Seriously though Sfc - why don't you just try it and see if the discount kicks in?
Do the math beforehand so you can watch the item scan through the till.
If it's right then walk away, if it's wrong then you are on a winner.
No offence but during the XBOX pollavas last year there were loads of Lurkers crawling out of the woodwork asking to be spoon-fed XBOXs.
I'm not for a moment labeling you as such, but I'm sure you can see the logic...
...if you spot the mis-price first you are a winner...
...if you wait until someone else acts on your information then Tesco stores will be flooded by other readers of this forum and EPH.
Good luck,
Duder0 -
Ohh no Leadhead has remembered an occasion when he got a free PSP and people are already thinking that there are PSP's about.
Ive driven to metro's and left dispointed but I have had results in them as well so they shouldnt be dismissed so easily. infact untill this was said they metro's will have been hit less I bet, tomorrow everyone will hit a metro. LOL0 -

I used to work for them many years ago and still have a lot of old friends across many stores, including managers and CSD staff, who I deal with regulalry every month in the course of other work I do on behalf of Tesco.
They have been aware of the R&R issue for months but their hands have been tied because of the policy. Also, on other forums with Tesco Staff, they are now stating they have been breifed of an impending change. So I have no reason to doubt them - their information has been proved right in the past almost every time.0
