Is there a sepatate forum for Tesco Coupon tactics somewhere?
Not all couponing tactics, but heres a start

spa2k wrote:lets use another example then. The gordon ramsay book. The product came in prestickered. The sticker price was wrong. As soon as this was noticed in our store the error was corrected. What you propose is to take the total sales of the book for that day and give them to whoever but the price was corrected at say 10am. Therefore any sales after 10am arent overcharge but as this is a stickered item there is no system showing when the price was corrected. How would the system know?
The system would know because someone would tell it that the price on the shelf or product was corrected at 10.03am. Hence anyone who paid with a Clubcard prior to 10.03am in that particular store would have 100 points added to their account.
Alternatively, someone at H/O could look at all transactions nationwide where the book was purchased. 12,384 people paid £11.96 (the right price). 8,349 people paid £12.96 (the wrong price). Hence, give £8349 to charity (8349 x £1).
It's really not that hard, but the will has to be there. It's about recognising that you've made a balls-up, going to some effort to rectify it, and giving customers the benefit of the doubt when you have created a "grey area" by having price-marked goods where the marked price is wrong.spa2k wrote:I genuinely dont understand why you keep banging on about something possibly done that by your own admission is prohibitively difficult.
I didn't say it was prohibitively difficult. I don't think it is, actually. I just think the will isn't there to actually make the effort. If they can analyse my spending habits and send me a targeted mailing offering 50 points on a particular brand of cat food, that suggests to me they have sophisticated IT systems capable of processing bulk automated refunds.
I said that if the prohibitively difficult argument was used, it would not be hard to add up the total amount overcharged (or even to estimate it) and give a lump sum to charity.
You're looking at all this from a Tesco point of view, spa, and thinking "why should we go to all this effort?". I'm saying that it's just plain wrong for Tesco to decide to keep the money when they made the mistakes in the first place and the onus should be on them, not the customer, to make amends. If that means employing a new department at HO to give back all this money, then so be it. Due diligence and all that. We're talking millions here, after all.0

Tesco Coupon-use, all is explained on the Discount Codes & Vouchers board as I posted earlier:Coupon-mad wrote:Don't give up do you cheapskate....do you think we will end up agreeing with you if you repeat yourself enough times? Errr, no.
And whilst I consider myself something of an expert on coupons (yes I use loads but they are either lots that Tesco can redeem or lots that Tesco let me combine as I have bought their clothing or toiletries) can we keep that discussion to the Discount Codes & Vouchers Board now?
If anyone wants to know how to use lots of toiletries (Health & Beauty) vouchers you need to just search the forums for 'Tesco Health & Beauty coupons'. To find discussion on multiple clothing coupon use (although most have expired now) search for 'Tesco clothing coupons'.
Back on topic, I am interested to see if any newspapers this week actually investigate the overcharging issue properly....rather than just using the glib Tesco-orientated version published so far. Somehow I doubt it unless Watchdog get involved.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Give up on what exactly? I don’t care if you agree with me or not. I have an opinion regarding Tesco’s policy change and I’m expressing it on a public forum. If you disagree, so what?
However, I do feel some sympathy with Tesco and thus I regret that a good consumer benefit has been withdrawn because it has been abused by some people – many of whom have gloated on these forums regarding their “triumphs”
So the “war” moves on to vouchers now does it? Well, that is something that should grab the lawyers’ attention so I’d be careful how you play that particular game.0

Sorry to butt in on your conversations, but, Im very new to this r&r thing and just wondered wether it works the other way, as in the SEL is higher than the actual price???? I bought 2 frames today reduced to £7 but scan through at £3.50. Still a good bargain though.0

 2) It is not stealing, "nicking" or any other emotive phrase that implies that I or any other R&Rer has broken the law.
I agree that the cost to Tesco for its "mistakes" or otherwise must be insignificant in the grand scheme. If Tesco is worried about having it's nose rubbed in it, it should have fixed its problems rather than tampering with the policy which is likely to earn it considerable negative publicity.
Nope, it's always implicit that because Tesco make profits, they can afford whatever happens to them. The same argument is used for all types of fraud and it is plain bogus. Benefit fraud, credit card fraud - it's all fraud:
“In the broadest sense, a fraud is a deception made for personal gain, although it has a more specific legal meaning, the exact details varying between jurisdictions.” Source Wikipedia
Mis-use of a policy such as Tesco’s easily falls within that broad definition.
Thus my use of the term “nicking” for trawling Tesco stores to make multiple purchases of XBOX 360s etc. - once the mis-price was discovered and Tesco had made their concession, to trawl other stores to gain the same concession is at best morally dubious if not downright illegal at worst!
Regarding negative publicity, who is getting the most as a result of this? Tesco or MSE?0

Yes you have to give the goods back to Tesco and they can come around to your house and pinch all your other frames:D0
