Ok sorry for the offence, all I ment was that some of his posts seemed to be for the purpose of winding people up not that he was a funny person.
Hope that clears up any confusion.0 -
Assuming the policy has changed ....georgiac wrote:I could have mad a few bob today if the double the difference had kicked in.
Valentine bouquets had been reduced from £6 to £1.
For some reason the discount wasn't kicking in.
I bought 10 bouquets (don't ask!) which would have been an overcharge of £5 on each, doubled is £10 so that would have been £100 refunded!
Roll on Feb 19th!
It should be £150 refunded.Edit ... should read £160
They need to refund the full amount paid and the resell to you at correct price to keep within the law. ie £60 paid £60 refunded then £10 paid means you've now paid ticket price. Leaves you with £50 refunded.
You now get double the difference as compensation ie 2 x £50 = £100.
Total refunded = £150 Total spent £10 so £140 for your pocket.
Edit .. Last line should have read ....
Total refunded £160 (Initial £60 plus £100 compensation) Total paid out £70 (initial £60 plus £10 correct price) so £90 for your pocket.0 -

Your calculations are slightly out my friend. You do get a refund of £150 but you spend £60 so...Hermann wrote:Assuming the policy has changed ....

Initial payment £60
= -£60
Initial Refund due to overcharge £60
= £0
New correct payment £10
= -£10
Refund of double the difference £100
= £90
Total is £90 up.....

I haven't seen any new boards so don't know the exact wording but I'm sure they will have to sell it to you at the correct price to stay within the law ie full refund then resell at correct price.Ken-Dodds-Hairy-Knodule wrote:I would have thought it was:
Initial payment of £60
= -£60
Double the difference refunded £100
= £40
Leaving you £40 up, plus the item.
Then you get the voluntary compensation of double the difference.0
