Pretty tempted by that mobiles.co.uk deal. I need a Pre 3 to complete my set - original Pre, Pre 2 (which I got FREE from HP!) and the Touchpad. Hmmmmm.... don't want to sign into a contract though and I'd be very annoyed if the 9 months free didn't work out for whatever reason.
Anyone know, if you don't use the contract SIM at all do they still pay back the discounted line rental?0 -

the last cashback deal i've had was years ago. at least you've had some current experience! i'm hoping to be organised about it and hope that it comes through ok.
must say so far all the dealing i've had with mobiles.co.uk have been very pleasant and it bodes well for the future.
Well according to their website you can send your bills via e-mail which is something not many of the other companies offer -- which is great.0 -

Hmm what do you mean by not using the SIM at all?0 -

Just not actually putting it in the phone except maybe to activate it - I use a giffgaff sim which I am happy with, so I'd only be getting the vodafone contract as a means to getting the handset for cheap.
Wouldn't want to go over the 500MB usage limit on vodafone and be stung with charges.

I don't see a problem with that, as long as you are getting bills from Vodafone I imagine it wouldn't be a problem. Don't think they particularly care whether or not you use your minutes/texts/internet. But do you really use over 500mb a month?

I'm actually currently using a San Francisco (AMOLED version
). I just can't get on with not having a physical keyboard though. 0 -

I bought it. Should arrive tomorrow! Decided I may use the SIM after all because I may not go over 500mb per month and if I do you can add unlimited internet for £5 per month which is still cheaper than my £10 giffgaff goody bag.
Happy days!0 -
BlueC yay i tempted another one to join! I was going to say use the sim and cancel giffgaff. 500 mb is an awful lot, unless you are a serious user. I'd be on the wi-fi when am at home so 500mb is only when i'm out and about. Also you get 2gb of bt openzone for free so i'd say between all that you'd be covered.
I chose Royal Mail thinking it'd arrive when the mail does in the morning and my hunch was right. The private courier could have taken all day! Mine's out of the box, fully charged and i've had a play. Very responsive.0 -

Thanks Simplicity. I thought this was supposed to be moneysaving, not encouraging my gadget buying habits! I am chuffed though as its a great deal, and a great device. I have been a palm fan since I had a Treo 600 in 2003 (an amazing touchscreen phone WAY before the iPhone!) and have since had a 650, Pre, Pre2 and now a Pre3.
Shame Palm were sold to HP as they have destroyed them, but hey ho, at least we can enjoy the cheap deals!0
