it does say 69.99 but not link to buy, just a link to the standard 'find a local retailer' web page

    Shopping information

    SRP only£ 69inc VAT

Call 0845 270 4142 to discuss options. Currently may not be available direct from HP

Yes, its the same as the TP site. They had it for the price but no link, just directiong to other retailers. They also said they didn't have any & did not sell any TP's through their site.

Think retailers like CPW are going to use it as a money spinner which they are entitled to do. Just hope people do not buy on contracts then hopefully they will be sold on their own. However with people buying them at a cheaper but not new rrp from places like cleverbox it seems there will be none for £50 ish. I hope I'm wrong.

Unlikely - since no network wanted the devices to start with (the Pre was a nightmare for o2) I really doubt they exist in significant numbers. Especially since the 'launch' consisted of them simply appearing without any advertising on resellers sites. The phone itself is a hang-over from when HP took over Palm and after the lackluster sales of the Touchpad (pre firesale), I bet they did a very limited run of those. I wouldn't be surprised if it's in the thousands rather than the tens of thousands.
  • There were two people on here that bought them full price from CPW last night... did they get confirmation of purchase and in stock?

Call me stupid, but how can CPW sell contract phones that the operators won't support ? That's asking for A LOT OF TROUBLE.

I can see people with their new 'contract' phone going back and forth with CPW and the operators ...

Also, a Contract phone without operator software ? (they always put their crap on top ...)

Orange support the Pre3, they have had the support page for about three week - they simply don't sell it themselves. Moreover, a couple of people bought them on the £30 24 month contract from the CPW last week when it was launched.
  • Just got one on Cleverboxes if this helps.
