CURRYS - very bad customer service

I bought a new tv from currys yesterday with cash, then tried to return it for a refund this morning only to be told by a not very helpful staff member to come back later as they didnt have enough money in the till, i was fuming.
when i got home, i rang the currys helpline, they were helpful, but suggested maybe i return it to anoter store in peterborough for a refund, i bought it from the huntingdon store, i dont drive, man on phone didnt seem that concerned that they still might not have enough cash in till at the end of the day at the humtingdon store.
i told him, i bought it there and i want my refund from that store, i am so frustrated as the huntingdon store has no direct telephone number to ring, so i am sat here waiting for a phone call to say when i can go and collect my money, WHAT A JOKE

If they didn't have the cash, then they didn't have the cash. A phone call before going would have solved that.One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

If you have gone into the store first thing in the morning, I can understand Curry's position.
For obvious reasons, they won't keep large quantities of cash in store or "open" overnight and they also won't keep large quantities of cash in till floats (again, for obvious reasons). Any cash that was in store other than the till floats is likely to be locked in a time delay safe.

It was a 22" tv and i paid £135 for it and i did open it but packaged it all up the same way0 -

Well i would have rung the store, but there isnt a direct number for them its currys 0844 number you have to ring, then they contact the store for you0 -

Have to agree with other posters, the store is unlikely to have large sums of cash in case someone brings a product back. This is why it is better to pay by credit card:-
1) gives you added protection
2) the store can refund the card straight away (although some stores do take a few days)
I'm sure they will eventually give cash if you give them time to arrange the funds.0
