Just to say, I found the friends calendar really dissapointing, even at half price I would not recommend it.
My son had the city one and got easily twice the Lego that the Friends one contained. City one had 8 minifigs I think, Friends had 2 and most of the lego in it was not really even buildable. My daughter was gutted as they opened them together every day and she could see she was badly short changed on it.0 -
£9.50 is a good price for the lego that you get in the Lego Friends calendar. But, I have to agree with psam, and I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it thanks to grabbits posted here.
I hadn't paid much attention to the product contents and had assumed, as a horse and carriage were pictured on the calendar that they would be in one of the last doors. We were really disappointed on opening the last door to find no horse, just a small table with a lego friends hair piece, wig stand and tiny perfume bottles!!
I then read the very small print on the back that states other sets are required to build other models shown. I have looked around and cannot find a lego friends set with this horse and carriage. I will be checking the contents more carefully next year and may just get a girl's playmobil calendar instead.0 -
Found a few sets reduced in my local Tesco Home plus. Purchased Police station 7498 for £36. There was a couple of lord of the rings ones on offer too.0

I knew what we were getting in the calendar...but definitely had the opposite experience here...I had the city, DD had friends, and she was chuckling away as I got "another fireman" or something "not Christmassy" lol while she was as happy as a pig in muck with her handbag, puppy, accessories sleigh etc etc. it was friends and she was happy (therefore so was I
) but I did love my city one hehe

My daughter was pleased with the bits but dissapointed that there was not so much to build and she is 4 so very big on things being fair/even etc and she could see her brother getting so much more.
The City one got the Xmas tree in the first week or so and had to wait till the last few days for her to get her tree, every day she said she hoped it was a Christmas tree!
She was pleased with her wig table until we opened the city one and got Santa, a sleigh and a trailer.
I didn't expect the horse and carriage but know a lot of people who did and were very dissapointed.
I already have the playmobile ones ready for next year, as much as they love Lego ;-)0 -
my local tesco had series 7 mini figs for 49p, bought all 13 they had, went through till at 1.97 each resulting in a very nice DTD and a happy son!
it was actually extreme luck that they went though for this. 12 out of 13 had stickers over the barcode with a different barcode that actually scans correctly. the woman who served me somehow picked the only one without said sticker and done a multiply! i am usually the most unlucky person in the whole world so this was quite nice to happen to me for once!0 -

I agree - we had all three and I am so glad we did not pay full price otherwise I would have been very annoyed. The kids were relatively happy but I am not sure they offer value for money at all!
