Thanks for the welcome back, everyone!
Not much going on here at the moment; I've done some truly boring chores and am now going to nip out to post some letters. When I come back I really must put the ironing board up; whether any ironing will be done on it is another matter!
Taplady - enjoy your 'me' day!
Bargain bird - I have loads of photos to sort through, then I'll put them on my b**g. The one you can access from my 'homepage' is not it, so I'll have to find another way of directing you, IYKWIM!
Well, I'd better get going. Will call in later.

Morning,
Just a quick one from me. Wedding was fabulous:T Everything went like clockwork. Venue, brilliant, food fab, band great, weather glorious! Both my DGD together. Baby GD was so well behaved, just like a little doll! DD loved amazing. Stepdad was so proud, and did a fab speech.
I am shattered now though, think I'm having a relapse now. So taking myself off to bed for a few days.
Love to everyone!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Morning everyone. Really must tear myself away from the comp as my morning seems to be disappearing:o.
I think it has stopped raining so will nip up to the bank and PO and get those things done then come home and get my ironing out the way from yesterdays wardrobe clearing day..OH's was . Have a pile of things for the charity shop, but not sure I can carry it, I might try and get it out the way...I can't stand clutter:o.
Also have to take the library books back but will do that later.
May try and start on the loft emptying in readiness for a carboot next week, pile it all in the garage in some kind of order so it makes it easier.
Am making sausage and herb stuffed aubergines for tea with potato gratin and maybe try and fit in some baking in the oven whilst it's on if I'm organised enough.
Had to give DD a cheque for £25 today to pay for her life drawing classes and she said she wants to go on the history trip to Spain next year so will have to start saving:o. Never mind it will be good as she's also doing Spanish Higher so can get some practice in for that too. Teens are expensive.Grocery challenge October: £228.28/£250.00 NSD 4 ( not completed)

Not much time to post atm
Had a few days to ourselves last week while DS was away with his dad but we both had bugs and felt ill most of it! Typical:o
DS now back and having meltdowns all over as a fall out from being away:eek:
3 chickens settled well but no eggs yet
Been an expensive month as DH self employed so the weeks hol didnt bring any money in and he has been to dentist 3 times due to extraction and resulting dry socket, cat been to vets and is going again tonight as she is drinking loads and something isnt right with her...am thinking renal or diabetes or worse:(
Also DH had to pull over quickly down a narrow street due to an idiot coming towards him too fast and he accidentaly scratched someones car....he left his phone number on the car in honest fashion but has cost us £200:eek:
So rest of hols are going to be cheap;)
DS wants to go to softplay today so am using voucher and he has got into going out for lunch after years of not being able to do it...going to Frankie and Bennys for lunch using kids eat free voucher.
I need to get out as cant listen to anymore monologues on washing machine cycles....ahhhh the joy of autism;)
Please send good vibes/prayers for Fatcat at the vets at 6pm:A

Hi All
One freezer has been defrosted & refilled, the other one is defrosting as I type. I have found 7 packs of chicken stock & enough bacon to last time October! I shall wash the kitchen floor once &'ve finished the freezers as the floor is bound to be wet, as are hubby's slippers as a huge chunk of ice dropped into them & I didn't notice until the ice had melted, whoops.
Hugs Hester

Hi all,
Long time since I posted in this particular thread! I think during the summer I'm too busy running about. It's been non-stop packing or unpacking since the start of may, almost, what with school and work trips, Scout & DofE trips, family holiday etc. I'm so glad the kids have gone back to school...gives me a chance to try to catch up with the chaos!
It was raining when I got up so I scrapped the planned trip to the allotment and decided to catch up on all the ods and ends of chores...trip to charity shop, post office, clean out the fridge etc. I made a huge pan of chilli last night so they're getting that again tonight in wraps (last night they had rice) and the rest can go in the freezer. Currently making a list so I can go into Tesco for a top up shop while DD is at swimming club...good time to go as that's when they do the whoopsies. I only need milk and bleach otherwise but it's a good time to check out any other offers while killing that particular hour. List mostly consists of "check price of..."!
Otherwise I'm going to spend an hour turning out DS's drawers and wardrobe and sorting out all the clothes he's grown out of and seeing what he needs for the winter. Same tomorrow for DD. There's a big jumble sale locally on Saturday and it's helpful if I know I'm not looking for particular items...no point in buying t-shirts for the garden if they've got lots, even at 20p each. One of my neighbours got a big bag of hand me downs for her DD last week and passed on a couple of things that were far too big for her girl so DD has now got two absolutely stunning party dresses for the Christmas season...she'll only wear them a couple of times each so then they can get passed back. Very helpful. DD needs some sort of party shoes though, which I don't mind buying second hand given they're only worn a handful of times.
Oh well, better go and clean out the washing machine. It smells a bit off so it's white vinegar + boil wash time I suppose?Val.0 -
Good morning all
Ivyleaf has had her operation, which went fine and is expecting to leave for home within the next half hour :j:j She sends her thanks for all the good wishes, and hopes to be back on line in a few days
Don't have any OS to report so far today, best get my bum into gear before the whole day slides awayYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Morning All,
OH out most of day so have been rushing about getting loads done.
Have already tackled our 'Abandon Hope' room and following Flylady's advice taken several baby steps and used my timer. A long way to go before the floor is visible but feel virtuous.
Intended to spend an hour on the overgrown flowerbeds but fortuitously the clouds have gathered and it's spitting. Phew! What an escape.
A little bit of yesterday's beef casserole left so, with the addition of a bit of suet crust pastry, that will be OK for OH tonight and I can have salad. Sorted.
Taplady: Sorry about the cold. Enjoy your 'me' day and be sure to cosset yourself.
RedRuby:All power to your elbow. It's hard living in the middle of a building site but how satisfying when it's all over. Hold on to that thought!
Losingpatience: I've notice that problem with milk too. Sometimes even from a supermarket it goes off long before the sell-buy. There's a limit to how many scones you can make.
Noah'sMum: What rotten luck about the car. It happened to me when I barely touched an old BMW in a car park. The driver leapt out and announced that I had scratched his wing, tho' how he could tell which was my scratch among all the rust, scrapes and dents that were already there I can't imagine. I said to let me know how much it would be to repair. When estimate arrived the garage he used was proposing to replace 2 wings and respray the whole car to match. Cost was thousands. I said to put it through insurance and never heard another word! Sympathy with listening to endless chat about WM cycles. My autistic DGS has a 'thing' about rubbish bins, so know where you are coming from. Good luck with Fat Cat - vet's fees don't help either but what can you do?I believe that friends are quiet angels
