Blimey I would hope any self respecting coffee drinker anywhere in the world would gag at the thought of instant coffee with coffee mate.
Me, I'd nip down to the restaurant/coffee bar and bring back to the room a cup of real coffee. Which I have been known to do on more than one occcasion !0 -

I could....but I'm not.....again missing the point...I can and will have a coffee the minute I step out of bed, the question is whether it will be black or with coffee-mate.......:pNever put off until tomorrow what you can avoid doing altogether.:D0 -
You'll probably be fine taking powdered milk in.
Just don't bring what's left back in a plastic bag hidden in your suitcase.0 -

Just don't bring what's left back in a plastic bag hidden in your suitcase. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
Suspect the sniffer dogs will be more interested sniffing out the copious quantities of bacon in the suitcases sneaked in by ex-pats than your tub of coffeemate!0

just don't forget your adaptor for the kettle as otherwise you might have everything but power!! I have taken my kettle everywhere including Russia even overnight ferries.
The funniest was in Cyprus where the hotel (2 **) had big notice saying you are not allowed to boil a kettle- or similar words. we only had half board so we were brewing up after packed lunch, after dinner etc to save the spondoolies. Anyway as the kettle was boiling there was a knock on the door.Q "Who is it?" A:The rep! "Sorry weren't not quite dresssed!" Stuffed the bubbling kettle in the wardrobe and tried to look calm and nonchalant. She didn't notice but it was a close shave!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

hate to be pedantic but coffee mate looks nothing like cocaine, so fear notLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
Well I put washing powder in a plastic bag every year (child allergic to different kind so can't buy it locally abroad) and so far haven't had my sujitcase opened or questioned. However I wouldn't put it in a cabin bag though. Only in the hold.0

Straight answer to your Q OP - why people can t do this is beyond me ... a forum is here to help!
Yes coffee mate and skimmed milk powder is fine... Never had a problem in hand baggage or packed in hold...
Its not dairy so that not a problem either - have taken in a bag but recommend you keep in tub.. shows what it is and I have had a bag split and it makes a mess... it goes sticky as it has glucose in
Totally understand you wanting to know the answer to the Q > Have a great trip (ps it won t get mistaken for cocaine, not when they taste it!)0
