Morrisons CPP Parking notice

Long time reader, first time poster.
Earlier on today I receieved a parking notice in Morrisons car park for overstaying the 2 hour limit by 10 minutes.
In the morning I had used the coffee bar in Morrisons for half an hour before leaving the store and returning home. Realised there was some shopping I needed so headed back down, an hour and a half later, and stayed shopping for an hour. Came back to the car to find a notice claiming that I had overstayed by being in the car park ALL morning. They obviously failed to realise I had left the area and returned, and obviously parked in a different place, hours later.
Is there anything I can do to avoid paying the £50 fine?

Yes, you can simply ignore the scam artists and any junk mail they send you (see the sticky at the top of the forum for the rubbish you'll get through your door).
And it is most definitely NOT a fine.
What I would suggest is writing to Morrisons Head Office complaining bitterly, and stating that neither you nor your family will use their services anymore whilst they are employing cowboys in their car parksOne important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -

If you have been reading this forum you will know that this is not a "fine".
You do not have to do anything to avoid payment ..just ignore any letters you get.
.except if you are in the 0.00001 % who get court papers ..then you need to come back for a defence..in your case you have a rock solid one ..it is after all up to them to prove their case
..which they can't ...they don't even know who was driving ..and you don't have to tell them ..remember the driver is the only person who they can claim against NOT the keeper.0 -
Echoing what the others have said, IT IS NOT A FINE!! These fake PCNs are scams every time, even if you had stayed there all day we would tell you to ignore it!
Read the sticky threads (permanent info threads at the top of the current thread list on this parking sub-forum). And then read any other thread on the first page that takes your fancy, except threads about REAL parking tickets from Councils:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...play.php?f=163
You will soon be confident that you must just ignore the bogus PCN as it's a scam, it's NOT a fine. Make sure you watch the Watchdog link (on 'welcome, please read before posting' ironically) and also check out the 'PPC letters, what to expect' sticky thread for a complete preview of the 'scary debt collector letter-chain' that you can look forward to filing in your drawer marked 'ignore, scam'.
I promise you that when you see the Watchdog clip and the preview thread with the scam letter-chain in pics, you will understand that we are right to tell you that this whole fake ticket thing is a con.
Ignoring it cannot affect your credit rating, only defaults on credit agreements/proper debts can do that (or if a company goes to Court and wins and you don't pay, then you can get a CCJ). But that will NOT happen here as because this isn't a valid 'debt' and most PPCs never go near a Court as they would lose.
ALWAYS simply ignore any private parking ticket. It is really simple, only ever take seriously a ticket from the Police, TFL or a Council.
BUT DO COMPLAIN IN WRITING TO MORRISONS - THE MORE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROTECTION RACKET & HARASSMENT, THE BETTER!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

This once again highlights the myth expounded by the BPA and their PPC cohorts that the private parking "industry" is there to prevent "unauthorized parking on private land"(i.e trespassers). It's no such thing. Most of the PPC victims are there at the invitation of the landowner, be it a supermarket or retail park. Then when these customers fall foul of their stupid rules they find themselves on the receiving end of threats and bullying from PPC scum. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Complain to Morrisons that a repeat customer is getting harassed by a 3rd party agent acting on their behalf (the PPC), and that you shall be shopping at (name local rival) to avoid further harassment.
Relax you don't owe Morrisons anything, you broke no rules (other than probably an idiotic "no returns inside 2 hours" rule), they will soon give up0 -

No no no no no no no!!! Not "that" kind of invitation!
"Come to our corporate empire! See the deals, spend as much time as you like spending your money here...and if you overstay in our car park, we'll see you pay even more!"
That's the rotten attitude!0 -
Fill your trolley up with good stuff from the frozen section, start unloading it onto the belt then explain that you have to go as last time you were there you got "fined" by the company that look after their car park. Hit them where it hurts the muppets.0

That's a good idea. You need to have a few minutes on your hands to try that one though. The point is, it will get the staff talking, those who have to come away from their shelves to restore the frozen items before they thaw and cannot be sold to anyone. They'll be talking about it at their break and the manager will soon get wind of it...a customer on the brink of handing more than £100 across the counter abandoned the store for fear of a parking ticket, staff were inconvenienced, food may have even gone off!0 -

Add in some deli stuff as well0 -
Just an update on the situation, since I got the parking notice I have got two letters from different companies, the first one:

And the second one (today)

Just wondering if I am still to ignore these idiots as the price has now gone up and has anyone any idea what I'm to expect next? Also, it's nice how they demand payment in 7 days when I got the letter 6 days after it was sent. Imbeciles.0
