    where will she be based?

If a main route is blocked diversions are generally a good few miles. Basically stay away from the M8 (Glasgow) in rush hour, the Newbridge roundabout in Edinburgh and the A90 heading into Aberdeen.

Beyond that the main issue in rural areas are sheep and cows hah.

Seriously though, the map point is a good one as some roads are classed as A but are really just small roads with passing places. Always good to know where the sat nav might be trying to send you, they are a tool after all and nothing more. Also, recpetion can be funny in the Highlands so a back up is needed.

What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?
  • Looks good to me,why do you need an adhesive mount?
Just to let you know the Google search on these is very good-just enter eg;Legoland, and it will take you there-no need for postcodes etc.
Went shoplifting at the Disneystore today.

Got a huge Buzz out of it.

Mostly Musselburgh (Edinburgh) and a remote village on the outskirts of Edinburgh.

**EDIT - but will be travelling around Scotland to various placements (Glasgow etc)**

Yes definitely will advise her to bring a real map too, thanks.

Will pass on all your useful feedback to her. Really helpful :)

The adhesive windscreen sticker thing is the only experience we've had of using a TomTom when we hired a car in Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago. Is there a better way to mount it would you suggest?

Yeah Google search sounds great!! Very useful indeed.
  • It comes with a mount to stick to the windscreen.

Nice one! So that should be it ready to go straight out of the box then? £179.99 will sound a lot to her, but I feel it will be worth every penny especially as the weather worsens in winter!

I have the TOMTOM XL Live Routes Edition which I can highly recommend a bit cheaper than the TOMTOM one you are looking at.
