BargainRzl-I need your help hun:cool: Ive had a couple of PM's about not believeing how cheap I get bargains from Sainsburys & Tescos locally. Can you confirm that Im telling the truth:D :rotfl:
    xx

Penny-Pincher! that's disgraceful! Why would anyone do that:confused: I freely admit I'm jealous of your bargains, 'cos i believe you:rotfl: :rotfl: But now I know better where to look, well you never know;) Actually, i don't deserve your bargains, because i'm not sure I'm prepared to put enough effort in!:o

Anyway, take care, and I hope the shingles gets better soon:kisses3:

    Hi everyone

Not had time to read anything other than the 2 posts above, so ((hugs)) to all those in need.

Been busy today. Went to finish off my first "big" job for a client. All did not go well. Some of the furniture promised for today didn't show. It may or may not turn up this week. then - having carefully propped a rug up - cos they wanted to keep it - it slipped and went through a window  Ok - only a small internal one, but there goes my profit :(

However, on the bright side, my ,spread, in a magazine is out now, and I've started getting enquiries. All bodes well.

Other than that - not had time for much OS today. Came home and made a tuna pasta bake from scratch - much to my neighbours amazement. She says she loves coming over as she learns tips and recipes every time she comes :rotfl: Anyway - I didn't get to eat any as we seemed to have finished off a bottle of Rose :embarras: So, tonight was going to be a cleaning sort of night - but friend is in the mood for more wine and it would be churlish not to help her out, so once the boys are in bed - I'm off across the road :j

Ok - tomorrow will be a mystery shopping morning then a cleaning afternoon. Hope you all have a good night.

    Evening everyone :hello:

    Huge hugs to Penny Pincher!

and hello :hello: to all newbies and people that I haven't said hello to before. :D

I've had a day of work today! It wasn't booked in, but the 'phone went at 7.10am and I leapt into action. Well, not so much leaping as dragging my body out of bed. It was a nice school with nice-ish children, so it's all good - and it pays money. I've got another 2.5 days booked in various other schools this week, so it's meaning that I'm on the way to getting solvent.

Luckily, the school that I was at today was down the road from the Tesco Extra so I was able to do my weekly shop without having to do a massive round trip. I managed to stick to the shopping list, religiously, based on our weekly menu plan. However, a few yellow stickered quiches did manage to sneak their way into the shopping trolley as they were such great bargains. They are languishing in the freezer, waiting to be incorporated into a meal/packed lunch on a future menu plan. ;)

I've also sold my first book on Amazon! I'll have to get DH to post it as I'm working again in another school all day tomorrow. :)

I'm trying to meet more people round here and so on Saturday I bravely went along to a group. I was so petrified and hardly spoke to anyone. They all knew each other and I must have looked like a right plonker, standing in a corner looking petrified at fellow adults who seemed semi-normal. :o Any tips for how to talk to new people? My normal tactic is to get sloshed and chat, but when you're driving and it's a semi-dry affair that idea is a no-go area.:o

I'd better go and excitedly wrap up this book to send to my first buyer. The money (all £2 odd of it) will be going in my car fund!

I'm with you on this one VickyA - give me a couple of drinks and I'm the party princess! But standing talking to folks you just don't know ( a la mums and toddlers) is soooo hard.

As I said earlier - it's good to find others have this problem. I find I always go up to people, but then the next time they never come up to me. So I end up going up again, to other people. Am I soooo boring:rotfl: Who said "yes" at the back?:rotfl:

    Hi everyone

Started to do this an hour ago when I got home from my first day back at work. Brain dead!

Re the going out to work or stay at home mum. Before we had our kids we were on a 7 year deferred interest mortgage and we lived on one salary for the last year before we tried for the kids to make sure we could manage. First one came along and then soon after Number 2 - Two under two! Things were very tight and sometimes near the end of the month adults had beans on toast for tea so kids had good diet, shoes etc! I registered as childminder but not so many mums went back to work then so work was a bit sparce.

DD had first one and had to go back to work as he was a wee surprise. She broke her heart and I looked after him the first week before he went to nursery. Nursery fees were horrendous and it was really hard for them. When number two came along she decided to be an at home mum. It hasn't been easly for them but they have managed (an occasional call for internet banking to help out!). DSIL has had a good promotion and while they still have to really budget they will manage. DD works in a call centre in evenings so she is at home during the day. Of course, Number 3 on the way!

Re the bargains at Mr T. My husband has on occasions got fantastic late afternoon bargains at our Somerfield (and also cheese in Asda about 10 am). I know someone who works in Asda and she says the bargains around 9.30 pm are unbelievable. Not really economic for me to go there at that time of night petrol wise.

    Love and hugs to all.

    Evening All

First chance to post all day.

((hugs)) to those feeling ill and under the weather.

    Hello to all newbies.

Did all my dailes this morning then popped to Makro to stock up with bounty kitchen roll amd toilet roll that was bogof. Also got 2 60 tablet bags of fairy dw tablets cheap as well. Resisted all other things except a new spatula as I melted the last one.

After we did pop to a tea room for breakfast so that was a nice treat, then looked at a new riding school as the horses at the one I go to at the moment are too naughty. Also popped round a friends to pick up DD's flask that she left there. By the time I got home it was time to pick up DD as she missed her bus today. So have cooked dinner, helped with homework (fractions - urgh) cleaned up and made lunchs and its now 7pm:eek:

So havnt done fly lady today but am going to do a little paperwork now to get a head start on tomorrow my main paperwork day.

Vicky A - havnt got any real advice for you but when I moved to a new area and went to clubs etc I stood on the outside and waited for someone to bring me in, if they dont do that and ignore you then I would think that wernt worth getting to know anyway.

    Good evening everyone,

Well, the childminders group was ok, the children enjoyed it, so that was the main thing!!! All the ladies do seem really nice, i just felt a bit 'out of it', but i will give it another couple of goes, and see if it gets any easier. Im glad im not the only one who feels like this with groups, i love my friends, but i am just as happy with my own company. Some friends wondered how i could take my children on such a big holiday on my own, but having been on my own now for over 7 years, i like spending time with my children, and feel quite stubborn and selfish at having to share that time, or have to think of someone else. Add that to not being the most confident person, i suppose im a shy, stuborn, selfish person who does better on her own!!!! Gosh, dont i sound great!!!!
Actually, i will do anything for anyone, prob another reason i find it hard to mix, ive been taken advantage of too many times, and find if i keep to myself then no one can hurt me.
Shez - exOH left for lots of reasons, one being he didnt want family life (i dont mind that he walked out on me, but how he could walk out on those 2 wonderful children i will never know, DS was 3, DD 18 months when he left. His now wife when i saw her really was an insult - such an old troll, and he set up home with her and her 2 children (the son has the same name as my son, another kick there!!!)) I now take great pride in making sure the house looks lovely, i try and scrub up as much as i can and often have something nice cooking when he picks/drops off the children (once in a blue moon then!!!!) just to show him how much better i am without him!!!! im not sure if he realises yet that i managed to get back on the property market, even though he ripped me off money wise big time, one day i will take great pride in telling him how much more i achieved without him!!!!

Goodness, i think ive gone on long enough - sorry about that - anyway, sorted out all my paperwork, ive done all the cleaning that needed doing and made a huge batch of spag bol, some frozen, some eaten and a lasagne made as well, so a good day all in all. Just waiting for the DW to finish, then everything will be finished.

PP - how rude are some people, it amazes me sometimes how people feel the need to say horrible things to others - i hope you have taken no notice and know there are lots more people who do believe you and support you than the nasty few!!!!

Well, better go, hope everyone has a lovely evening,
(((EXTRA HUGS))) for all those poorly people and their families xxx
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Hi to everyone,
I've had my first day back at w**k, since 27th Dec, and was glad to get back to normal. The computers went down at work though this afternoon, so the time dragged abit. Bought my Mum and Dad some flowers and chocs as it was their wedding anniversary today (13 years).
Used my SC for the first time yesterday, and was pleased with the result. Made honey and mustard chicken. Also began a list of things I need to sort out. Have been good, and listed some bits on ebay. THinking of saving up for a few days out with DS over the following few months.

Penny Pincher - It is sad that people need to be rude towards others re getting bargins. Maybe they are jealous of not getting any yellow stickers for themselves. Well done though, and hope you find lots more:T

Hope you all have a good evening
